Nice render of a Mustang (or whatever the car is). Which programs are the best for renders?

It really depends on your level of skills, the learning curve you want to have and the quality you need. 3ds Max + Vray gives the best outcome, I think. But the program is so huuuuuge, that it takes a long time to learn all the tricks. Maya is mostly the same. I prefer C4D (Cinema 4D), which looks a bit more artificial in the renders, but therefore has a very easy layout and you get a good learning curve as a beginner.

@vx110 & spidey.

No offense, but taking all the credit of these renders which obviously 90% based on already made scene, without mentioning the "real author" is wrong.
As well, importing the already made car into the scene, and twist the angle of the camera, and put a standard vray material on top, does not show your skill.
But hey, people like it.

So what the heck.

Cheers

Well, i did all the material setting by myself at the last ones. Also the camera settings and lighting.
I've spent a lot of time in the bloody tail light and head light material settings to get a nice look for example.
It's right the scene wasn't built by me. I downloaded it at Evermotion.com.
Cars are from Forza 4 which i've converted by myself. So didn't knew that i have to model them from scratch to do some good renders!

Cheers

Edit: And don't get me wrong i don't want to be a "professional" renderer. It's just some kind of hobby. A bit like scale modelling or something like that^^ Just assemble everything i need and try to get a "realistic" result. It isn't that easy for me as you may think. I've still to read some tutorials for this and that. I'm not finished in 5 minutes ;-)
But you're right i didn't credited it in the right way. I'll do it better at the next ones.

I totally understand you Spidey and I think you're doing an amazing job with your renders. This is a 'Render' thread and not a 'Full Project' thread. For me, at least, it is obvious that not every single part of a scene is self-made in most cases. On top of that, like you say, creating a good render is NOT simply about importing a pre-made car and push the render button. Everybody who has rendered before knows that there is a whole lot more to it! And showing off what has been been done so far, and how the person doing the renders has improved is part of the learning curve that goes along with starting to do renders. This should be acknowledged, too.
