hello

i'm suffering the issue with this (absoluetly great mod) that in some tracks, the cars aren't loaded with enough fuel. It seems like the "fuel settings" are still related to the original game track order. For example if you start a race in spa, it shows you got 17 laps of fuel tanked, but in fact the consumption is about 1.5 fuellaps per lap. this causes to AI to retire either in the middle or in the end of the race (some times they handle to get back into the pit but even then they won't make it to the finish line).
It's just not fun to win a race like that with Schuey (even though he actualy deserved it, back in Spa '98).

Anybody knows how to solve this?

I could reproduce your problem with the Spa1998 track. It seems to be not a problem of the 1998mod but of the track used: missing magic data. When I put the "default.tmd" file of the Spa1997 track (from 1997 trackpack) into the TSM ini file of Spa1998, this track was behaving fine again.

Duffer: Hi all i have the pleasure to announce the release of the mod after 12 years of work on it. I hope you 'll like it. You can find all details on the first post of this topic 1998 Release.

The Settings\swap.ini file is incomplete. Please add the following lines in section "SwapFolder" at the end of that file:
Folder16	=Menu\videos,MenuData\PC\GP2001\Videos
Folder17	=Menu\countrymaps,MenuData\PC\GP2001\Images
Folder18	=Menu\Trackmaps,MenuData\PC\GP2001\Images
Now the mods videos, countrymaps and trackmaps are shown.

During testing I discovered a detail concerning the driver gpaedia:
To handle the driver 9/10 bug somehow, the order of drivers 9 (Damon Hill) and 10 (Ralf Schumacher) has been intentionally changed in the gpaedia driver selection menu. Because of this the teamart helmets should also be changed, which has not been done. You can rectify it by editing the section "Helmets" in the Teamart\Default.ini file:
[Helmets]
...
File9	=Helmets\schumacherr.gpi
File10	=Helmets\hill.gpi
...

For more information have a look into the GPaediaMaker Guide, sub-chapter "Driver 9/10 bug" of chapter "Remarks".

Damn, I'm sorry, Alex :(

If you need GP4 files do not hesitate to ask me, thankfully I have lots of them!

In the meantime can you send me stwheels?
So I update the Mod, even fixing it thanks to Peter's help!

P.S. Please tell me that you still have Lola 97 somehow ...

Well, then nothing. Those just can't be recovered...
Too bad because the 1998 Cars PSDs would have been used for NT Liveries :(

About the steering wheels, I made some internal ones for my video preview videos. I made those for Arrows, Williams, Ferrari, Jordan, Benetton, Stewart and McLaren (Hakkinen). Minardi, Prost and Sauber were still WIP and I found no useable picture for Tyrrell. But at this time the files are safe but innaccessible. I'll look at my Mediafire in case I put them there at some point.

And I did not :(

Maybe there are links somewhere in the thread though

Life is good isn't it ! I've just found the HDD the files are on and I made a quick compilation of all the work I did over 6 years ago. If anyone can make a better release package, feel free ;) (I was missing that emoji haha ;) ;) ;) ). So this includes all driver specific changes I'm aware of (glove color, wheel shape, etc.) and an easy to follow naming convention. Just rename the file you want to use as stwheel.tex and you're good to go ! :)

[www.mediafire.com]

This is the kind of detail I went through back then. Of course I was limited to what my then unbelievably great sources allowed me to work with. And if anybody wants to improve my work, I still have all my base files and my original PSD layered files, so feel free to ask ! :)
