1998 Mod - Release - Steering Wheels Preview

I hope this is of some assistance.

I already have some of those in my database, but the Sauber one is very interesting. I had something already from Sauber's video earlier in the year, but it was showing Alesi's version, with the round wheel. The photo you posted shows that Herbert had a much different wheel to Alesi. As low-res as it is, it can still be useful. Thanks a lot !

C16 is actually the 1997 car, but thanks anyway Vlad I'll make deeper searches about Herbert's 1998 wheel though !

It's probably the lighting. When I change lighting, it's hard to get a good balance between a darker bottom and a clear, but not too shiny, wheel top. But I'll get there

I took a break from editing lately, to focus on my Grand Prix Legends F2 Monster Rank. The Arrows sound and phgysics are still WIP, but they're coming along nicely (15,000 RPM with V10 torque). I can't find decent sources for the Minardi sound, but I know they were using the same block as Tyrrell, so no big deal. 5 steering wheels are still due to be finished, including the two I have yet to find decent pictures of (Tyrrell and Williams). I also figured out that Herbert and Alesi used different wheels (Alesi's was round while Herbert's was cut at the top).

I'm about to take a break from GPL, so I'll probably get back on my 1998 stuff then

Also, I haven't had news from Duffer in a while, so that's all I can tell the community at the moment

With help from GPTeam (authors of the 1998 mod for rFactor) I managed to get my hands on a more than decent photograph of the Williams wheel. Here is a first sight preview Alpha layer needs to be smoothened, but this is better than what I could even hope for

The car and helmets are NOT those Duffer made/will make. They're temporary stand-ins taken from a CTDP (possibly illegal) conversion I randomly found. Only the steering wheels and tires will be included in the final release, which, of course, I'm not aware of when it will be. Next step : Mecachrome !
