Circuit N° 12 of Buenos Aires... is this the one used in the 1995 F1 season?

If not 1995, then what season was Circuit N° 12 used for F1? Or was it used in F1 at all?

No it wasn't.

1953-1960 Circuit #2
1972-1973 Circuit #9
1974-1981 Circuit #15
1995-1998 Circuit #6 with Senna 'S'

#12 is used by Turismo Carretera (I think that's the name) from Argentina, and Brazilian Stock Car races there at the #7.

Thanks for clearing this up for me Prblanco!

Maybe one day we will see the #15 and #6 for GP4! :)

Wait.. these are all already finished and available for GP4? Impressive!

I'm going to try now driving some of these

Ok I drove a couple laps on Buenos Aires and Rio Blanco and this is what I think:

- CC-line feels a bit weird. I didn't get to know the tracks very well so it might influence, and I've tried building CC-lines before and failed massively so I'm no specialist, but it doesn't feel optimal: taking turns far from the apex, not using the whole track width to take the turns, etc.

- The 200/100/50 metres signs sometimes are in the wrong side of the road. I don't know if things are like this in the real tracks, but I doubt it is this way.

- There are no elevations, tracks look flat. I know throwing this into the mix makes track building much more complicated, but it makes the end product much better too.

The good things:

- The graphics are fine. Not incredible hi-res, but I noticed some objects which seemed specifically done for the track.

- It seems very stable, no game crashing or anything, which means these can be used as a very good starting point for future versions.

Unfortunately this is the problem with many new tracks...many track makers (of course not all) pay no attention to the cc-line and it is quite bad so that driving is not much fun....especially for keyboarders.

Haven't found any other new tracks with that problem.. except for my own attempts :D

Looks ok, but it could be improved quite a lot with some minor work

Its hard to get a cc line to suit everyone though. Keyboarders have their own styles which might not always suit cc lines. And with a wheel it doesn't matter so much, as long as the cc cars aren't doing anything silly.

Tony

That's true that keyboarders have their own driving style...but the cc-lines I am refering to are two meters away from the apex, do not exploit the whole width of the track, cause remarkable speed differences between cc-cars and player car and simply don't allow smooth driving ;)

good cc-lines make a difference to cc lap times though

That's not so important. Laptimes should be determined by magic data and performance file, not by cc-line.
It is important that the cc-line is realistic, allows smooth driving for keyboarders and also cc-cars have realistic speed in the corners.
You should try to create a cc-line giving approximately very similar gaps for each of the three intermediates between your and the cc-car's fast laps. For example, if you are 0.9 seconds quicker than the others and the track layout is regular then you should gain 0.3 seconds per intermediate - or if the laptimes are very close to each other then also the intermediate should be. Of course this may vary because often a circuit has both slow intermediates with many curves and fast intermediates with straights at the same time (for example Indianapolis or old Hockenheimring). The cannot be this exact as I have described.
To underline this I give a example of how it should not be. I experienced this already but I have forgotten at which track. I was at the same level with the fastest cc-car...so lap difference of 0.0 sec. But now look at the intermediates: Int 1: +0.6 , Int 2: -0.8 , Int 3: +0.2
These are the fastest laps and it was impossible to go much quicker...or slower ^^
In this example it means that I was much slower in Int 1, but extremely quicker in Int 2 whereas the third intermediate (Int 3) can be considered as realistic. The same situation in the race - the result: Impossible to follow and overtake the cc-cars in Int 1, but much too easy in Int 2 because they are so slow, whereas Int 3 was realistic. That 's not a good cc-line and it does not make much fun to drive as it does not provide a realistic race.

Ok, I have explained my opinion and experiences a bit detailed now ;-)
I just wanted to show that cc-line should not focus on laptimes, but on realism, 'driveability' (does this word exist? ;) ) and similar competitiveness of player and cc-cars.
Latimes are determined by performance files (and magic data).

Sorry for spoling this thread with my off-topic explanations.

Nevertheless GP4Argentina brings out many new tracks for GP4 :)

So the circuit N°6 doesn't exists for GP4?
I publish the track of the city of Rio Gallegos, Santa Cruz, Argentina.
