Williams FW18 (1996) Converted From TRD3
A simple conversion of the TRD3 game, all credit must go to the creators of that game, I simply brought it to GP4 and added car number 6 texture.

Thank you. Very nice car.
Any chance a Ferrari 96 would follow?

Cheers :)

Is there one I can convert??

Actually there's a Ferrari which was never finished by Ebi and Nick. And there's Geno's McLaren. If you want to have a go at them, I have both on my HD. There's not really much to do, just setting up some thing, correcting here and there maybe and (at least for the Ferrari) making adding texture bits for the second car. I wanted to do that myself sooner or later, but right now it seems it will be more later tha expected. So, if you're interested, just let me know :)

PS: nice conversion! :)

wow thnx,looks nice:D
GAAH I havnt locked that car up in TRD3 yet ;) Nice one!

One day I'll give this car a proper make-over, but this is fine as it is for now.

do you have permission of the creators of the williams????
otherwise its leaching and you should remove the link.
double standards abound in this forum, what if someone made your super aguri for another game without your permission?
And also did you pay for trd3 to get this? but thats irrelevant, you need permission from the author of the car, there are copyright issues, which im sure if codemasters were informed that you made this without permissions could get you in trouble.
Please gp4 members, lets not have double standards, some members get totally slagged off for converting or modifying someones car, then we have someone who converts a car without permission from a commercial game and the same members who slag off the other 'leechers' dont say anything about releases like this. It creates a bad atmosphere which make readers of other forums who visit here think grandprixgames.org forum wants to rule gp4.

Fongu,

The Williams is very very nice! ;)

I just have a little question.. Isn't a "Black Tower" label missing just above the car's number on the nosecone? I mean, I think that there was a Black Tower label in the FW18...

Once again congratulations for bringin' this car to GP4! :)

MLE®
There have been many conversions from boxed games, textures and objects for tracks, cars and other things of which there has been no problem before. But for arguements sake, I've deleted the link.

TRD3 is one of the worst games graphically ever made. Why do I ask that?? Well the tracks are not accurrate (I hate Adelaide in TRD3), the cars aren't good and the cameras are crap.

so what if trd3 is a poor game, fongu converted this car for the community and he gets flamed for it..i see race 07 conversions in the process for rfactor and gtr2,theres no problem with permissions and leeching there so why is this any different..if you dont like it then fair enough but theres no point making stupid posts about it..personally i think the car looks good and id like to see more..

don't start this old crap here again...

no one has any permission to edit anything in gp 4..
thats a basic well known..
we don't have permission to edit its cars/tracks/helmets/stands/garages etc.

so we have a lot of work that is not with original manafactures permissions..
ie..geoff crammond/simergy/infogrames/

most car makers started with an original gp4 car & modified it..no permission..

most track makers...myself incuded..started with a modified dat file..
no permission...

this is whats wrong with your statement..

not one piece of work that started with gp4 content has permission...

i've used trd stuff in my track works...

no permissions : but original authors content was always made clear.

do you seriously think a big buisness." thats what it is " will consider giving permission to hobbyists to use their property ?

if we & other communitys had this opinion....

we would still be driving the original cars around the original tracks...

gather up a list of names of anyone that has made/modified anything of original
gp 4 content & contact geoff crammond....

do the same for rfactor..gtr2..race 07..nkp....

fongu has no permissions from codemasters...obvious..

has he made a secret of the cars origon ? plain to see there.."96 Williams TRD3 Conversion Available" nope !

while your own the moral high ground..
.
pop over to netkar pro forums...

they have gp4 tracks in that game now ..but look at sites policy concerning
conversions....doesn't apply to these gp4 tracks ?

so...contact codemasters...inform them communites are using their works without permissions.......see what they say......

don't forget to link to individual sites from various other sims as well...
@dkpioe
Your attitude is what creates a bad atmosphere. The anti-leecher paranoia.
There are some tracks converted from those games which are great for our game.
Many people uses tools like photoshop or 3ds whitout paying any right to autodesk or adobe enterprises...
So please don't say stupidities about double mentality.
This is just a hobby. And fongu was fair saying that he was not the author and telling us that it was just a conversion. He didn't earn any money for it.
Incredible your anti-leecher paranoia.

Its not only his paranio but also how he critizes the work of people that
put so much time to make for us to enjoy.

This is an example: [www.grandprixgames.org]
Their are many others examples to show.

Fongu dont listen to this low life "dkpioe".
