GP4 F1 1991 MOD released !

Hi

Congratulations for this mod, i think the mod is ok and i put the " ambiance sound " at 20 % and the others sounds at 80% but i still no see improvements in the sound.

I think that the sound of the mod should be improved.

But the cars and pit crews are wonderfull.

Any plans for some of the other backmarker temas to be made for this mod. such as

Larrousse
Ligier
Modena
Coloni
Fondmental
AGS
Footwork

OK, I'm downloading and installing my first GP4 Mod, how fitting that it's one of my most awaited mods that I break the ice with. Stand by for bitching and/or praise and/or technical issues!

There was talk i think at one stage of making the backmarker teams...

I guess it was a possibility however at the time it was decided not to bother due to the lack of any real images other than of the ligier and larrousse teams...

So all i can say is maybe, however you never know what hte future holds

The point is, that during the creation of the mod all but three or four guys remained active. Building the cars would be entirely up to me and that was not something to look forward to... Anyway, we put a lot of extra liveries (NT's, driver's names, sponsor changes etc) on the other cars to compensate.

OK........... some problems I've encountered...

Downloaded PLUS trackpack, 1991 trackpack, 1991 carset, and ZaZ tools. Installed the ZaZ tools, noticed that they're 1.26 beta, does that matter? Is there a standalone update for those without regular internet connections to their GP4 computer (i.e ME! )

Anyway, ran CSM, loaded the 1991 carset mod, it didn't exactly load it, seemed to stop around 70 or 80%, at least that's how I saw it. Ran TSM, and tried installing the tracks. They didn't work with default GP4...

What am I doing wrong?! My GP4 is clean BTW, or it was!

This mod rocks, the only slight problem I have is, everytime I enter the game for the first time, the cars have no textures (all white). I need to go to the graphics menu, do an automatic "test" and there you go, the textures appear and I can go racing.

Seeing the glitch with the Williams livery. Seems to be related to the lower lods as it morphs back to normal when viewed up close:

you can just set texture detail to high in gp4's graphics options.

that one will be fixed with the upcoming update.

Anyway...

@Erix: Yes I did follow the installation instructions. I double-checked them, and it seems to stop installing the carset not at 70 or 80%, rather at 57% I believe. The track installation seems to be fine, though would the big clue to it's success be that normal cars and different tracks are there? Any thoughts?

OK, I followed the instructions a bit better, and did it like this: PLUS trackpack >> 1991 trackpack >> 1991 carset. I hoped and prayed CSM would finish loading the mod and it worked! I'm now very VERY happy racing in Imola! Kudos guys, it's looking GREAT, if a little slow due to my laptop.

Good question! There is one tune played in the setup menu of a very soulful woman singing, never heard the song before, but it's very good...

That's Massive Attack's Unfinished Sympathy, the other two are the BBC's grid music called Ivory Tower by Klaus Doldinger and Giorgio Moroder and Fuji TV's "Truth" (with the engine sounds).
