I think there's a file in the wad, but I'm not sure which, maybe Lo2k knows exactly which one, but I'm sure it's determined by a file in the track wad

Yep, it's a file in the wad.
I thought it could be the trackname2001.env file (used to choose the static environment map to use) but I'm not sure anymore...

That could determine reflections on cars perhaps - Environment mapping?

What does the .vcl do? I know the .hze determines the position of heat haze "windows" around the track, probably on a worl xyz co-ordinates, but I don't know about the .vcl

I believe .vcl is about cameras but I don't know more.

.vcl is used for videowalls, but maybe more ...

.vcl for videowalls...

Perhaps then, it could control "miscellaneous" functions, such as the videowalls, so it could be possible for it to contain information on positions of dry areas around a wet track.

A question about the fences, around my track the fences are too close to the tarmac, no run-off area at all. If i determine a distance the wall seems to be parted in two fences, the original fence is still close to the tarmac, how can i solve it?

A picture? I don't quite get what you're saying...

Problem solved, it only happens with an unfinished track.

@Lo2k:
Is it possible to rotate objects around a horizontal axis? I only can rotate them around a verical axis so that they remain completely flat. I fthere are elevations and I want to place a flat object a part of it is in the air or below the ground.

Edit: Just read in your manual that rotations are always made on Z axis. Perhaps another idea for next versions, to make rotation on X axis possible.

Great! 16.7 soon then eh? ;) Nice work on the current version mate, I had a problem when creating the .col after making new black flag areas in the initial sector with v16 and 16.4, I got a blank box with a button that had nothing on it :S If you have any ideas as to why that might be, I'd be glad of guidance.

Obviously for the time being it's better to create .col first then add the areas later but I wondered if you knew of a hidden cause?

really ? I will check that.

Be also sure to read the thread on 3DEditor 16.4 about "Group with Object" feature problem.

is it possible (or already well known?) that bin flickering is caused by graphic card/settings?
i hear some people have no troubles, but mine always seem to be less than perfect.

@Zeppelin, I made a test but everything worked fine; I added a new black area command and then save the .col file without troubles.

@B-tone: I don't think your graphical card could be in cause. Could you show a picture ?

How can i create with ZModeler a kerbs.gp4 and a track.gp4 file from a 3ds file?

Till now i just don't get it right. I'm using ZModeler 1.7b.

Hmmm, it may have been something else then.

Would it be possible to have rails that automatically sit on top verges? ie you set the bank distances to 0, and it automatically calculates the value you need for the rails to sit just on top of them.

@Zeppelin: set fence distance to 0 and fence will be at verge edge(yet)...
or did I missunderstand your question ?
