GP4 dynamic helmet visor created

I used several times the gp4 helmet visors during a race, but the visor static frame seems to me a little unrealistic.

So I modified the cars.wad in order to create a dynamic helmet visor, the following video attests the dynamic visor behaviour, the tree shadows effects on the visor are noticeable.

It’s just an idea, it isn’t probably the best result and someone that knows better GP4 tools and graphics tools could create a better one.

Follows the cars.wad and gp4tweak.bin file links:

I hope someone like it.

It looks really cool, I'm interested in knowing how you've made this possible :)

In order to create the dynamic helmet visor I edited with GP4 Builder the file cockpit_dash.gp4 located on cars\cockpit of cars.wad.

With GP4 Builder I copied Scenes\Scene 1\Warning_off\Part 1 on Part 2, then I kept only 2 faces of Part 2 and eliminated all the other faces, then I changed the 2 faces coordinates and moved near the driver eyes: I associated the 2 faces with the visor_helmet.tex texture I previoulsy created modifying a .tex file I found on the net.

You can locate all these files on the cars.wad I put on mediafire.com

I've updated the dynamic visor with a better graphic version, if someone aims to test it I've put the following 3 files on Mediafire:

cars.wad
[www.mediafire.com]

GP4 performance file
[www.mediafire.com]

gp4tweak.bin

I don't use CSM Mod but a standard GP4 environment, the dynamic visor is inside the cars.wad file, in order to use it properly you also need to use the tweak.bin file that contains the right onboard camera position and other positioning parameters.

Is possible just let the dynamic visor, helmet and tweak.bin file disconnected from this cars.wad for use in other mods / years?

I suppose it's possible, but I'm not an expert in GP4 tools usage, so I wasn't able to do that.

Yesterday I made many races using the dynamic visor and I can assure you the driving experience is very very exciting, more realistic than GP4 static visor one.

I hope someone of the forum more expert than me in GP4 tools usage will suggest how to extract the dynamic visor from the cars.wad to allow to insert in on some other cars.wad files, this will allow to other GP4 users to enjoy this kind of driving experience.

I think you need to locate these file's in any csm mod, replace them and check if it works?
