Tips on visor's effect

I would like to do the visors as you can see below, having transparency on the top where the display itself is located. The PSD image shows deleted area like has to be done to convert an image to png, I tried to make it but the full image have gotten deleted. Any tips on how to make this effect on the visors would be most welcome.
