Question: F1 1997 mod?

Hello everyone!! It's January 7th but... happy new year to you all!! :D

Now I was thinking about the awesome and high quality mods and cars so far, specially my favourites, the 80s cars by Pedro Ripping Corpse (and what we haven't seen yet hehe), and some other great 90's cars like the screenshots of 1998 cars, or the awesome 1996 mod released some years ago.

After all, I thought... what about a 1997 mod? I mean, 1997 cars with the quality and high-accurated at same level of 1996-1998, or similar. Perhaps anyone is interested in it, for a future project or something similar?
I don't know if there already exist 1997 cars with similar quality than 96-98 or not, at least... I've never seen screenshots about 1997 and I felt curiosity about that ;-)

Many thanks to everyone who reads this, and best wishes!! :D

So, in the meantime take a look here: [www.grandprixgames.org]

Unfortunately, the cars are converted by F1Challenge, so the quality is not the best ...
However the mod is complete with trackspecific liveries and more!

Now I was going to convert F310B and FW19 of VRC from AssettoCorsa, as soon as I did I'll show you some screenshots ...

I would absolutely love this!
F1 97 mods for rfactor etc are all based on these F1C cars, which are very nice, but not as detailed as the 1996 or 1992 cars for GP4.
It would be a dream come true, as 1997 is my favourite season. :)

Funny you should mention that. Some of my favourite cars from that year.
Do not get yours hope up just yet, there is still bunch of work to be done and I have almost zero free time for this but I would very much like to finished. Plan is to continue work on this project right after 2002 is done.

Absolutely gorgeous my friend. This thread did remind me that you had worked on these, so it's great to see the cars and they don't disappoint.
Interesting you chose the late season version of most cars, but the early season sidepods on the Jordan.
I see you make the steering wheels also

I think I started collecting some photos of the Stewart recently, but don't take that as a volunteer to make it... yet

Oh my word! :-o
Vladimir, if you need a donation for say a 3d program, or for access to premium photos etc, anything that might help get it over the line, let me know.

You have absolutely nailed the nose of the Ferrari, it looks miles better than my Minichamps 1:18 model!
The McLaren and Benetton are beautiful, they all are!
The only thing I can possibly see is that perhaps the Jordan, the nose supports might have been a bit more 'vertical' than they are in the model, angled forwards, but like this || when viewed from the front. Perhaps they are, it's hard to tell from the angle.

Fabulous work my friend! (*)(B)(Y):-O

Mamma mia!
Why did not you tell us before? 1997 is simply my favorite season!
At this point I will not sleep the night before these wonders are not complete ...

Ooooohh god, that's exactly what I meant with "high quality and very realistic" as 96, 98 and 92. What a pieces of art Soulbringer!!! McLaren, Williams, Ferrari, Prost, Jordan and Benetton if I'm not wrong, and they're absolutely beautiful!!

Thank you very much to you all for your comments. I'm agree with all of you, 1997 is one of my favourite seasons ever, and to see perfect models like these Soulbringer's screenshots is a dream. I would absolutely love to see 1997 cars finished, this season needs great-done cars like these.

Sad that it will take long, but... the waiting will absolutely worth it :D To see these screenshots made happy my day, thank you very much!! (B)

Thank you guys for all nice comments.
To tell you the truth @fongu I didn't even realize they were late season. William is originally made without sidepod winglet, I just made it as sort off add on because it was easy work. I don't plan working on different shapes for each car as I did in 2002 season, it is just too much work.
I'm aware Jordan and Benetton I think, are early season versions, I just don't like sidepods that came later in season for either of the teams.
@salvasirignano they are 100% vertical, I just checked ;)

Unbelievable job mate!
I'm sorry for doubting you! ;)

I agree Vladimir, the early season sidepods were nicer on the Jordan & Benetton. Anyway, I hope you get some free time to work at them.

Hello everyone!!

I hope to not be annoying with this question, but... perhaps there are any news regarding the 1997 cars? These WIP pics are awesome, without doubt a great basis.

Thank you very much in advance, best wishes to you all!!! ;)

I was taking a look (again) to these 6 models. As more times I look at them, more I like them, they're gorgeous! I don't know if it's your intention, but... if Soulbringer gives permission to work with his models... with a good high-quality painting (like the screens shown in the Screenshot's topic), in my opinion they would be the best 1997 cars I've seen, so far, in all sim racing games. In any case... let's hope for an answer hehehe thank you so much to you all, for all the dedication! 1997 was a great season, with great looking cars.
