1986 Mod Question

Hi guys

I am having a problem with the 1986 Mod. I have made a custom trackpack for 1986 but each time I am trying to load it with the mod nothing happens. The only available tracks to race are the original ones from GP4. Any ideas on how to go around this problem? I've never had similar issues with other mods.

Thanks a lot in advance

The 1986 mod has it's own tracks included and does not use TSM.
In the "swap.ini" deactivate them by adding a leading semicolon:
; Folder5 =Tracks\Circuits,Circuits
You can now use another TSM track profile by selecting it in "The mod's configurables" with the "List" button, but TSM core will give you an error message regarding some ".str" files.
Deactivate the mod's str files (rename them) and try again. This worked for me.

If I remember well, I just turn the tyre TEX files to TGA with Slimtex and then back to TEX and the problem gets solved.

If you can try it and post here will be nice.

Somehow just by setting the parameter to 1 on the cfg file doesn't sort the problem.

If I use Slimtex and convert the files to TGA and then to TEX I do get very shiny tyres (even in the lowest pixel level) and all the lettering on the tyre surface (Goodyear etc) disapear or become messed up.

If I convert the tyre files to TGA only then I end up with good quality tyres but they're similar to the ones in the original GP4 (4 groves)

Any help on how to proceed would be most appreciated

@ RP: I really can't wait to see your new mods

EDIT: Problem Solved!!!!!!!!!

I don't wanna open a new Thread so i post my problem here ;).

(After the Start) Picture jumps from Normal to Dark, and then to Orange *wtf*.

Solutions are welcome :-) thanks in advance.

The Real Story of the Race was that the Renault's fell apart and the Ferrari's didn't.
Rosberg headed for the sliproad and retired, probably because of Nicotin starvation they have still not given him a helmet with a little hole in it.

There´s no 1986 trackpack, since no Brands Hatch track has been released yet, so you can use other trackpack, maybe 1988, or wait untill Brands Hatch is released.

Or you can make a 1986 trackpack with the tracks from different years that's what I do and works without any problem

Hi there!

I´m trying to play in 1986 mod. Cars ok! The problem are the tracks.

If I'm not mistaken, I need to create I "1986" Profile track in TSM, write?

I have created a 1986 based on 1988 tracks, but as a click "Start", CSM gives me the message:

"Corrupted language file. It could be that the mod contains its own string files. Try to find .str files in the mod you are running and remove them from de mod"

So I delected some .str files but it doesn't work.

Any idea?

Is there other way to make tracks work in the 1986 mod?

Thank´s!
