Weird problem after cars.wad change which never happened before

Posted by TGF1Driver2
One reason that I'm very busy since years are technical problems. Now I came across with another one. I was trying a cars.wad which I have created somewhere back in 2014 to check the cars if there are any graphical issues. But GP4 didn't start, I just got a black screen and then it crashed back to desktop without error log. I tried it again, but for some reason the GP4.exe in the GP4 main directory was gone! :-O :-O Luckily I had a backup somewhere else and put it back to the right place. This time there was no black screen and a very short error log was created. I tried out another cars.wad which I created back in 2014 but the problem was the same - the GP4.exe was eaten up by anything! After the second try the same error log was created, which should mean that the cars.wads might be both not faulty. Then I tried to load the cars.wad in TeamEditor, but it can not load the file and brings me only a French error screen which disappeared after a second. Well, here is the short error log:

Who can help? Did I made a mistake or forgot something? :( hot
Well, for some reason my antivirus scan deletes GP4.exe when trying to launch the game via GPxPatch. This has not happened anytime before. I will try other cars.wads now to see what causes the problem....

Now I have put the same cars.wad back to GP4 main directory which was running fine yesterday. But GP4 won't launch anymore. I have tried a fresh GPxPatch installation and an older version (v4.44) as well, but nothing changes. (N) Help me.... :(

Try to set an exclusion (no scan) for the folder which incluses GP4 in your antivirus parameters
What is your anti virus?

Norton Internet Security. But I don't understand why it suddenly stopped working after changing the cars.wad, everything worked fine yesterday! :( :(
May be a virus définition update which doesn't like GP4

Any other ideas? I don't think that it is caused by an update.
I have Norton, and it also wanted to remove gp4.exe for a while. But everytime it did, I collected it from quarantine, told the program that the file is safe and to never remove it again.
When I had updated the .exe with TeamEditor, it did it again. So I just repeated the same procedure every time, and then it suddenly stopped

Ice Hockey is my Religion!
Norton says that GP4.exe is a high risk for my computer. Norton sucks! :-( (N)
Thank you! Problem ist solved!
Heuristics checking. Double-edged sword. It might suck but Norton AV would be much less effective without it.

Hate to sound smug but Linux users don't have to concern themselves with such things. A quick virus check once in a blue moon and it's good to go. I've found two viruses in over ten years of Linux use (both Windows specific).
