GP4 Tweaker problems [fixed]

After falling in love again with good ol' GP4 I've been trying to install GP4 tweaker so I can have a few extra options to play with. Progress is good, but I'm completely stumped on how to get the slipstream effect to work.

After several failed I've been following this post religiously to get it working, and up to step 6 everything is fine, all the options in the original tweaker GUI seem to work fine. It's installing all the ini files from tweaker_pe download I seem to get the problem. I copy all of the files over (they don't overwrite anything by the way, when installing GP4 tweaker and GP4 tweaker reloaded no gp4tweak.ini or gp4tweak_data folder appeared), and make sure that SlipStream and SlipPlayer are set to 1. But when I start GP4, nothing has changed. In the gp4tweak.log there are no "Patching Successful" messages. In fact, that log file always says the same thing (but with different timestamps):

I tried enabling the custom visor tweak in the gp4tweak.ini as well, but that didn't work either. Basically, it looks like GP4 Tweaker simply doesn't recognise the gp4tweak.ini (or the gp4tweak_data folder or the gp4tweak_data.ini), as everything else works apart from these options. I'm running a clean GP4 install with a decrypted 1.02 exe (with the 9.6 patch), on Windows 7, if it helps.

So does anyone know what I can do to get this working? I've searched everywhere, haven't seen anyone with a similar problem. It's left me completely confused..........well, more confused than normal! Thanks in advance everyone, I'll really appreciate any help on this! ^^

I'm guessing here that you are using a CSM Mod, as Tweaker makes the changes direct to the exe if you are not using CSM, any changes you want to make are either enabled or disabled in the tweaker gui

I use CSM Mods and the mods have a folder Data\tweaker\gp4tweak_data

The mod has a MERGE.ini file that has this line to force tweaker: mod\merge\gp4tweak.txt,gp4tweak.ini

The actual gp4tweak.txt is in the folder Data\mod\merge

This is what it looks like:

[SYSTEM_TWEAKS_ENABLE]
HeadViewMove = %tweak_headmove% ; set to 1 to enable head view movement tweak
HelmetMoving = %tweak_headmove% ; set to 1 to enable helmet moving sensitivity tweak
OnboardCamEdit = %tweak_realtime% ; set to 1 to enable onboard camera position edit mode
ViewAngleEdit = %tweak_realtime% ; set to 1 to enable onboard camera view angle edit mode
HelmetPosEdit = %tweak_realtime% ; set to 1 to enable helmet position edit mode
TyrePosEdit = %tweak_realtime% ; set to 1 to enable tyre position edit mode
SteerPosEdit = %tweak_realtime% ; set to 1 to enable external steer position edit mode
ArmsPosEdit = %tweak_realtime% ; set to 1 to enable driver arms position edit mode
CptSteerPosEdit = %tweak_realtime% ; set to 1 to enable cockpit steering-wheel position edit mode // forgotten?
CptDashPosEdit = %tweak_realtime% ; set to 1 to enable cockpit dash position edit mode // forgotten?
CustomVisor = %tweak_visors% ; set to 1 to enable custom visor tweak

Check your gp4tweak.ini (Core engine system configurations) has the items you want to run enabled. 1 = on 0 = off.

The tweak.ini file is in the Data\tweaker folder. It has all the switches (0 or 1)

The gp4tweak_data folder (subdir) has all the relevant ini files to force the tweaks.

I'm not using a CSM mod, sorry, I'm running GP4 tweaker from a seperate GP4 install at the moment. Do you mean that any option out of the tweaker GUI can't be enabled on a non-CSM game?

That is correct, if you are running on GP4 only, and not in a CSM mod, you are restricted to what is available in the Tweaker gui.

Ah right, got it. My CSM has been acting up recently so I haven't been using it, but I'll be reinstalling right away. Many thanks for the above advice, it'll be VERY helpful! ^^

I found this in the search and it sort of explains a problem i am having with csm. I never had this merge file and i managed to real time edit the positions etc then i had to write and type in the values. However now i have the values i want whenever i load CSM it does not apply the tweaks. Now i figure i need to add this merge file but is there more to it than that because i tried to run the CSM with the merge file and nothing happened. It is not gamebreaking for me its just really bloody irratating so any help would be such an ease on my mind :)
