It’s been a long time since I last reached out ever since my brother passed away. Seven years have already gone by. I used to share the whole world of GP4 with him, including our weekly Monday night "head-to-head" race with our two computers networked together and a few beers.
I had lost interest, but I never abandoned the forum, occasionally dropping by to see what results and progress had been achieved.
I believe the last mod I downloaded was the 2022 version, but I never felt like trying it out.
Over the last few months, my 13 year old son had been playing Codemasters' F1 game, and suddenly I thought to myself: "Why not let him try GP4?"
He absolutely loved it. He's crazy about it!
So I downloaded the 2025 mod, and man I was impressed.
It’s fantastic!
I was really impressed by the inclusion of “GP4MemoryAccessInstaller,” which gives the game an extra boost with spectacular high resolution graphics not to mention the cars, which are crafted with meticulous attention to detail.
I can’t list everyone by name, but it goes without saying that you are true geniuses, given all the software you’ve created over the years to update our favorite driving simulator.
I’m afraid my passion has returned thanks to my son so I’ve started downloading track packs and other content to help him better appreciate GP4. The only thing missing is the steering wheel setup: it’s not registering the pedal inputs, but I’ll ask for help with that later if needed.
I created a loading screen for him featuring my favorite circuits, which I’d like to share with you.
To make the work easier, I’ve always created loading screens using a single image, simply changing the circuit name each time.
I have also included the Photoshop file in the RAR archive, so with the exception of the main image (which can be swapped out) you can edit any other element, such as the circuit names. I’ve included the fonts used as well, so you will need to install them to get the exact same look, though doing so isn't mandatory; feel free to customize it however you like.
I hope you enjoy it, and I hope the Google translation is accurate.

Hi Fabio, welcome back.
I recently purchased a Moza R12 direct driver wheelbase, a Moza FSR2, and a Simsonn Pro X Ultra pedal set. It's another world coming from the Logitech G27.
I had many issues getting it to work, but most because of my stupidity. After many talks with ChatGPT and Claude, they are now working smoothly and beautifully.
I intend to make a tutorial later on how to make it work; there are different options using third-party software, but you actually don't need them.

1. All the modern steering wheels and pedals have their own software; make the configuration (deadzone, curves, strength, degrees of rotation, etc) of your devices in this software.
2. In the GP4, go to options/controls/keyboard setup.
3. Click on Change Driver Keys: set Accelerate: keystroke A, Brake: keystroke Z, Steer Left: keystroke Z, Steer Right: keystroke , , and the really important ones: Gear up: keystroke SPACE and Gear Down: keystroke Shift. Clic OK.
* OBS: make sure these are the same keys in the keys.ini (you can check in the gpxpatch main tab/ edit key binds).
4. In Controls, click on an empty user set and go to Advanced.
5. In Steering, click on Steering device, choose Controller A (X), click on it, and you should be able to test your steering in Axis X.
6. In Accelerate/Brake, click on Acceleration device, choose Controller B (X), click on it, and you should be able to test your throttle in Axis X.
7. In Accelerate/Brake, click on Brake device, choose Controller B Y, click on it, and you should be able to test your Brake in Axis Y.
8. In Gear Change, it should already be set to Change up SPACE and Change down SHIFT because you had set up the driver keys previously, and the game automatically configures the keys accordingly.
9. That's the configuration which will make your steering wheel, gears, and pedals work. If it won't work, the error is at this step. Save the configuration, then you can load it at any time.
10. Click on Calibrate and perform the calibration as requested.
11. Go to workshop/utilities and save game state.

With these steps, modern devices work well here. There are other options such as using Vjoy (virtual device), Hidhide, and Joystick Gremlin (running as administrator), which also made it work, but the other way is easier.

You can set all the buttons using software called Antimicrox, running it as administrator. It looks like it's crazy difficult to set the keys, but it is very easy if you write down the action of each button and its specific keyboard keystroke. I will send you my profile. Open the program and click on Load; my profile will be on your PC. Then you have to test which action each button does on your steering wheel and modify it in your own profile. Trust me, it is quite easy and makes all buttons work in-game.

Hi. Thanks for the warm welcome. I didn't expect him to get so into it, so I bought a budget-friendly steering wheel: the Superdrive Racing Wheel SV 400. I don't think I paid more than 50 euros for it. It's strange, because it works perfectly with Codemasters games. Obviously, he isn't using the gear shifter yet.

Map the steering wheel to Controller A (X) and the pedals to Controller A and (Z) for the accelerator and brake. Or, if the controllers are reported as combined pedals, set the accelerator and brake to Controller Y.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. I'm so glad your son likes GP4. Mine (now 27 years old) had his GP4 phase (it was a real pleasure for me to convert mods for him).
