Updated and uploaded v33

. Analysis of MP4/4 CFD data
(see "Discussion" on aeroData)
. Drag coefficient of MP4/4
. Torque loss % of MP4/4

. magicIndex° now interpolates {desc42=track grip} for any range of surface index

. Lots of under the hood invalid-input handling

btw, if you use Memory Access,
you can set ric-o-mputer for Monaco and have a proper final drive ratio for Monaco,
so every GP you can readjust it in Memory Access and use FDR

Thanks for the new update!
It should be the 33rd update or so ;)

Hi Ricco

I know that you are probably very busy witht the 1987 Monza project but I was studying the effects of physics, MD and PFs on top speed and slipstream Human x cc cars ( old Behavior on GPXPATCH )

- Human x cc cars top speed ( using the same gear and wings settings ) - usually cc cars are faster than human cars even with the same power and grip on Performance files
- improve the slipstream effect to help overtake on straights - the cc cars seems to have more slipstream on straights ( maybe because the have a better top speed )

I try to fix this reducing the cc power on track MD but I notice that it affects also human cars ( both loose top speed witch is very strange ).
Did you notice that? Do you have any idea how to improve it ( top speed and slipstream on human x cc ).

Best

Jose

Jose,
Just a quick reply.. maybe the AI wing setup is different from what you are using...
I noticed that the magic data parameters have the CC cars setup including other parameters.
Try taking not of it and setting your car with the same parameters.
For me these are expected differences due to different setups.
But, I cant remember now about the physics if there is a specifc cc / user value (I'm away of the computer)
If my above reasoning is obvious and you tried that, forgive me.

The force of drag vs engine power isnt the only speed limiting factor - it depends on the engine torque curve and the final drive ratio.
If your last gear isnt revving at the peak torque/power range at the maximum speed allowed by the drag force (varies from the wing setup), your car will not reach the max possible speed ( which results of the equilibrium of drag force vs force generated by the drivetrain)

Best regards, Ric-o

Thanks Rico,

I set everything you said with the same values.
The difficult part with"old bahavior" on gpxpatch is to discover a parameter that affects top speed of cc less than human car!!!
Probably there's unknown variables that could help on that but need more study.

The torque file should also affect both human and cc on the same way but sometimes it's not what happens!!! So using a real world values could lead to distorsions also ( hope not in your case of 87 MOD )

Best

Hey there Rico. Wanted to test your promising tool (now have time for that finally), but it seems that ric_o_mputer_36.ods cannot be opened for me for some reason cos it is have some problem after running the program. Double clicking the .ods file opens excel but with the warning message which looks like this:

Text is this exactly:
Невозможно открыть "ric_o_mputer_36.ods", так как файл защищен паролем.

After clicking "OK" excel greys out (all buttons are grey and I just have to quit it). Seems like your tool is locked behind some password or something. Hope you can help me open it on my pc.

Previous acc (Soutsen) has been banned from use cos of some annoying spammer used the same @mail domain.

Hi, I recommend you open it using OpenOffice, which is the tool it was developed on, and it is free open source software. I believe Excel does that because there are indeed some syntax differences; the circular iterations used are not basic level programing, so it might make a difference. The sheets inside are indeed password protected - the practical reason is explained in detail inside the instructions section.

See if you can open it in Openoffice please.
