Disappointing weekend.. hopefully better next time.

It's good to finally get back to racing

Hello, does anyone have the Zandvoort (Netherlands) track from the 70s or 80s? If so, please post it. I appreciate any information.

There won't be any more modupdates or tracks for RDs (Misano) coming from me. My SSD with Windows on it died yesterday, and I'm for sure not gonna buy a new one with the AI inflated prices.

Re tracks it should only be Misano, rest we can use the ones I prepared for previous seasons. What would need to be done
- load the mod and start a race on the track
- work out a good setup for the AI, i.e. not hitting the rev limiter on the longest straight or still being in 5th gear at the end, try to get it in a way they can overtake. Last part is tricky sometimes, at least for me, the first part I don't think you'll have trouble considering your experience
- adjust fuel consumption if necessary
- set laps so you get a 40 minute race in dry conditions
- 100% one stop, window set around halfway point, e.g. 30 laps race -> pitstop lap 13, window 6 laps, something like that
- adjust failure rates if necessary. There should be some, but also not an ecxessive amount
- adjust AI errors. Our default value is 40, if that causes chaos reduce it. Emmeloord for example we went as far down as 4 to have fair race conditions.

That should be all. I usually did a couple of accelerated test runs after I was finished, and checked the lapchart for oddities. Also went ingame during the pitwindow, to check that there's no issues there either.
I set the laps in the track itself, and injected the md to the track. I found that to work better than relying on the tsm created md file.

Re mod, in theory we can limit the update just to the perf files. That's the important bit, the rest is just graphics. So it'd be enough to keep using the last mod version I prepared, and then just give the RD the perf file with the correct name to drop in the respective folders. I think some RDs in the past just updated perfs themselves anyway if no other mod update was required.

Hi Toby and everyone.
I want to apologyse for not putting any word.
The thing is that i can not make a separate install of GP4 without messing with my system for Gp4 modding track building
so i cant update the mod and track pack for your especifications.
I want the series to continue but i just can do it because of what i mentioned, i prioritize GP4 Track modding.

A suggestion, how about doing a virtual machine running another instance of Windows just for these specifications?

Looking forward to the next race.

Me too!!
If all else fails we could also run the San Marino race at a track that is ready to go. The next race in Japan will be fine anyway so we have some time to decide.

Speaking of the next race - sorry for the delay with the perf files. I've been quite busy lately and will be away over the weekend so it might take another couple of days to finish them.
