Now THAT is a solid qualifying session. Awesome work from both Christel drivers. Here’s to big points in the race!

GPGSL Season 17 - Round 1 Australian GP - Race
Welcome back to race day, Pedersen had an incredible lap yesterday and will start from pole position, right beside him is Majumdar.
We should also keep a look on our rookies for the season, Blackwood was the fastest of them, and will start from 10th place, Sosa is in 14th place, while his teammate, Harvey, will start from the last position on the grid.
Reigning champion Gustavo had only the 20th fastest lap in the qualifying, not the start of season he was expecting.
Let's begin the GPGSL Season 17
It is lights out and away we go
Buitenhuis with a good star, he puts his car between Majumdar and Pedersen
After the first turn, he sits now in 2nd place
Brickles was also able to overtake Majumdar
Not the start of race Tyrant GP was expecting after the good qualifying from yesterday
Rookie Carlos Sosa dropped to 20th
Menawhile Sosa teammate and fellow rookie, Daniel Harvey, managed to gain 6 positions and jumped from 22nd to 16th
Pedersen already with a good gap for Buitenhuis
Greidanus is doing a good job in his return to the GPGSL, same pace as his teammate Sheppard
The same can be said about Blackwood, who is keeping up with Szcus so far
Brickles seems to be closing in on Buitenhuis
Sheppard and Greidanus are close, team boss Kederer may be forced to use some strategic orders here
Blackwood tries an overtake on Szucs, the rookie for sure has some courage
Szucs is able to keep his position
Which allows De Bruyker to overtake Blackwood
But Blackwood seems to be ready for a battle with the former champion
Caranti is waiting for an opportunity
De Bruyker hits the breaks earlier to avoid any issues, and this allows Blackwood to retake his position, and also Caranti goes for the inside and overtakes him
De Bruyker drops to 13th
Right in front of John Warrington, who is returning to a racing seat after a stint as team owner
Brickles tries a move on Buitenhuis, this new BMW engine for Mist seems to have a lot of power
But as Buitenhuis breaks, Brickles has nowhere to go, and hit the MMM's car
Brickles spins and Buitenhuis goes into the gravel
Buitenhuis is able to return in 8th
Brickles doesn't have the same luck, and sits now in last place
Szucs tries to gain an advantage over Buitenhuis, a few meters after the Dutchman returned to the track
But once again contact happens between the cars
Which sends both drivers into the gravel, Buitenhuis had two accidents in the same lap
Blackwood sits now in 8th place
Szucs returned in 20th
And Buitenhuis is in last place
Beggani sits in a good 3rd place
Unseen by the cameras, the BRT's exchanged positions, Sheppard is now in front of Greidanus
O'Neill in 7th place
How the top 10 has changed in 3 laps, Warrington with 9 positions gained
Harvey is inside the points zone, a good result so far after starting from last place
Gustavo only in 19th place
Sheppard is getting closer to Elleker
De Los Rios tries an overtake on Sosa, but send the rookie into the grass in the process
He is able to overtake Sosa
And the rookie drops to 18th place
O'Neill seems to have a problem
And it's a transmission problem, end of race for him
Brickles tries to overtake Szucs
And they hit
Brickles keeps going without any damage
Meanwhile Szucs drops to last place
Gustavo is regiht behind Sosa
He tries a move
But Sosa closes the door and keeps his position
In the next laps he tries again
And they touch
Which makes Gustavo spin
He returns in 20th
Beggani is the first one to stop in the pits
Buitenhuis stopped in the middle of the track, this may cause a red flag
Another transmission problem
The marshall does a great job and avoids the red flag
Beggani tries to overtake Elleker
But they touch
Begganis spins and Elleker goes into gravel
Beggani drops to 19th
And Elleker to 20th
Savio goes for a little offroad try out
He spins in the grass
But is able to return
This is the standings after our round of pit stops
Sheppard dropped to 4th, right behind his teammate
Warrington with a solid performance, in 5th place
The same goes for rookie Blackwood
And driver of the day competitor, Harvey
Brickles overtakes Elleker, on a battle that could've happened at the front of the field
Silva closes on Harvey
And he overtakes the rookie
Harvey now sits in 8th place
Pedersen wins the Australian GP, with an strong performance, no mistakes today
Majumdar finishes in 2nd
And Greidanus in 3rd

Double points finish on top of a podium makes it a decent race for us. Now we just need to keep this sort of pace throughout the season and maybe be able to challenge for both championships.

An exciting race. I'm thrilled to have gained the most places and finished 5th on my racing return. Hopefully, a lot more to come.

What a nailbiting race, glad Daniel kept it cool. Maybe with some boosting, the team can further support his charge from last to 1st.

Impressive result from Blackwood, it’s a shame Szucz ruined his race. We expect more from next race
Fantastic result for the team, double points and Ruben on the podium in his first race back already. We got to carry on the momentum now, and keep working hard to continue like this.

This race was more testing the car for me,
but still in the points after a bad quali.

To answer Greg and Marcus, nothing happened between laps 20 and 26, no overtakes, no accidents, zero mistakes, that’s why there are no screenshots
Regarding MMM’s racing, it was ruined by others, nothing we can do it about, we just need to regain our pace from last season

Well i qualified 12th and finished 13th in the race.
Not the start of the season that i would have liked but
we did finish the race.
