GPGSL Round 11 - German GP - Hockenheim - Race

Welcome back to the race day of the German GP.

No chance of rain for the next 30 minutes

Here is the starting grid for today, Brickles trying to come back in the championship race is going to start in the pole position, Hinz right beside him, Championship leader Buitenhuis is not having a great weekend and will start only at the 17th place

And away we go, Brickles with a very good start, not giving any chances to Hinz

Beggani overtakes Hinz in the first turn

Caranti will also try a move on Hinz, not the start of race that the German was expecting

O'Neill is watching their battle by a close distance

And Caranti takes the 3rd place

Gustavo needs to improve to at least 4th place to be able to tie the championship

Hinz teammate also lost two positions after the start

Moinet is back as a race driver for his own team as Zak Cronin was punished due to some misbehavior

Buitenhuis dropped to 20th, with a pace like that his championship lead may be in danger

Hinz retakes the 3rd place from Caranti

Pedersen takes the 10th place from Karda

Hinz goes a little off track, and Caranti tries to take the opportunity

The Germand returns to track and hit Caranti's car

This may ruin their race, Caranti goes airborne

Hinz is able to hold his car, but Caranti goes off track into the sandbox

He has to wait for the whole grid to pass by to be able to safely return to the track

And he comes back in 22nd, what a shame for him

O'Neill was able to get the 3rd place with this mess

Hinz is in 5th place now

At the back of the grid, Parachki overtakes Stoddart while being watched by Buitenhuis

Not the season that the GPG's Bernie Ecclestone was hoping when he decided to return to race

Keranen is on the sandbox

Replay shows tha he lost control by himself

He is able to return in last place

How the top 10 has changed since the start of the race

Pedersen has a good pace, as he is able to overtake De Los Rios for the 8th place

Buitenhuis has climbed to 15th place, he need to salvage any number of points as possible

Ancevski overtakes Stoddart

Brickles has put a huge gap between him and Beggani

A huge accident, and it's Buitenhuis, the championship leader

He lost control by himself

And had a hard hit in the wall, he seems to be okay

Keranen is coming, and a Marshall us running towards Buitenhuis' car

He hits the Marshall, what a scene, we are not going to broadcast that accident, the paramedics are there helping him

Pedersen tries to overtake De Bruyker

No luck for him, the Marshall that was hit by Keranen is okay according to our sources in the track

Pedersen tries again in the next lap

And this time he is able to pass

Elleker overtakes Moinet fot the 11th place

And Hinz overtakes Sheppard

Gustavo is already in 6th place, with Buitenhuuis out of the race he can take the championship lead is he finishes in the podium today

Moinet retakes the 11th place

Last season champion Paulo Silva is in 14th place right now

Caranti is slowly regaining positions, he overtakes Sakata

Sheppard with the payback on Hinz

The same goes for Elleker on Moinet

Parachki takes the oportunity and also overtakes Moinet

Gustavo is trying a move on Hinz

And he goes Through, 5th place for the Brazilian

Caranti overtakes Szucs

Gustavo is also able to overtake Sheppard, and sits now in 4th place

Hinz tries to seize the oportunity and overtake Sheppard

They're side by side at the turn

Sheppard goes a little too wide

Total drama here in Germany, as Sheppard is in the sandbox now

He returns in 20th, only ahead of Keranen, teamboss Kederer can be seen throwing some chairs and equipments in the garage

Parachki overtakes Elleker for the 10th place

Caranti overtakes Ancevski

Szucs also overtakes Ancevski

Hinz is the first one to stop in the pits

Oh no, a blown engine for Pedersen, what a shame

End of race for the Danish

And after the round of pit stop,s those are the current standings

Caranti overtakes Moinet to take the 11th position

A battle between Macs, as Karda overtakes Hinz

But Hinz is also overtaken by De Bruyker

Gustavo is righ behind Beggani, this overtake can make him the new championship leader

He goes for the move, but Beggani's car seems too wide on the track

He goes off track

Into the sandbox

But is able to return in 5th place

Just ahead of Karda

Unseen by the cameras Hinz overtook De Bruyker, and now Elleker overtakes Parachki

9th place for him

But Parachki retakes his position back

Karda tries to overtake Beggani

De Bruyker tries the same with Hinz, right behind them, we have a 4 car battle

Images only Hockenheim can give us

They are still side by side as the turn is closing by

Karda overtakes Beggani, and De Bruyker overtakes both Hinz and Beggani

Great move by the former champion

Hinz also wants to overtake the French

And he is able to

Parachki and Elleker also join the fun

Elleker takes the 9th place

Caranti and Moinet are also close by

Caranti goes for it

And now Moinet is the next in line, at this pace Parachki may finish outside the points

Moinet overtakes him

Silva is next

But he may have to defend against Majumdar instead of attacking Parachki

And Majumdar overtakes Silva

Elleker overtakes Beggani and takes the 8th place

But Beggani retakes the position at the next turn

Aftert the early accident between them, Caranti is in 10th place, fantastic drive by him

Parachki tries to overtake Moinet

And Caranti does the same with Elleker

Both of them are successful

Majumdar wants the final point, will he be able to get it?

The pressure may have been too much for him, he goes out by himself

And returns in 16th place

Moinet is safe

Brickles wins the German Grand Prix, he never lost that 1st place, wonderful drive

O'Neill in 2nd

Gustavo with a really good 3rd place

Moinet is still able to overtake Parachki to take the 11th place for himself

Final standings

After that eventful race, we have a new championship leader, Vitor Gustavo, while both Brickles and De Bruyker are now less than 10 points behind him.

With only 3 races to go, we are in for some major drama as both MMM and Wrexham are fighting for the championship

Keranen went after the race to check on the Marshall, and everything is alright with him

Oh boy ;)

Jorge did a fantastic job, if it wasn't for Hinz he could've easily finished inside the top 5

Not as good a race as I'd hoped, but I had some great fun battling and trading positions

Grand chelem baby!! Redemption after the Interlagos engine fire. :-) Two wins in the two German speaking countries as well.
Good coverage as always.

Too bad for me race... (N)

Damn, the boost could have done wonders if I wasn’t at the bottom

Let me fix one thing...

"Images only OLD Hockenheim could give us" Indeed!

Good race, 3 to go, title fight drama down the wire!

That Marshall was lucky it wasnt in a straight, high speed section....

damn it...blown engine :( on to the next one!

Lovely coverage.

Did not know that AI cars can collide with the marshall.

Coming to the race - looked set for a good finish but the final few laps both cars ended up going backwards.

A few points in the end but the pace seemed to have dropped off in the closing stages.

Kimi forever!
Great racecraft from our team, with both cars gaining positions. Congrats to Sean on the podium, well-deserved. I'll take P4, we weren't far from the podium but I think this was the maximum I could do for today. Onto the next one :D
Literally Hinz ruined my race for sure punting my car and making it go into the sand box and in the air !!!
I was fighting for a top 5 position. Anyway coming from p22 back to P9 was really good.

2010 to 2021 Gp4 Track updates Jorge's Track updates blog
A good second place finish for me and some good points. Just one step away from hearing the Irish Anthem played.
ah, sorry Jorge :(

Seems I lost all speed from quali so 7th is not too bad, some solid points.

And thanks a lot for the great coverage, enjoyed it a lot :-)

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
Such a stupid mistake, hopefully it won't cost me the championship..

Did the marshal really get hit or did the car ghost straight through him?
