Let us use our imagination! How would Grand Prix 5 be?

Posted by Filecoder07
So imagine Geoff Crammond suddenly announced the beginning on the design for GP5 for this may 1st, 2024. How do you think it would be?

Filecoder07
Well, meanwhile, I guess they got it in Electronics Arts ... ;)

Better than Gp4 ;););)

2010 to 2021 Gp4 Track updates
With same IA principle (but updated with more stuff).

Better off-track immersion.

3d-arms.

3d st. wheels.

And ingame edit mode.

Believe it or not, last month I was invited at Geoff's home to play a beta version of GP5. I can tell you guys this game will be epic.

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
I would say...
More slots for tracks.
Split screen.
An easy way to update seasons...

I'm not telling porkies, seriously.

... ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT
Okay so here's my take on how Grand Prix 5 would look like nowadays:

- Improved engineer lines (More opportunities to interact with the engineer)

- Improved marshall car pick-up physics animations and 3D design

- Added a "crane" to lift the cars up (so they don't lift up magically)

- Keeping features from the previous entries (hot seat, no player mode(so it's like a TV Broadcast), and more)

- New failure chances with the MGU-K and MGU-H, Turbo, etc

- Capability to change the power unit

- Career mode (I don't really see this one as a necessary option though)

- Online multiplayer (Split Screen for Consoles, if this one gets released to a console like Xbox)

- Obviously better graphics, track and car designs

- Even better car damage physics, and pit stops

- Improved AIs (even tho GP4's still hold up!)

- Editable Name Team/Engine/Driver names

- Some bug fixes on the replays (some cars sometimes crashed when they weren't supposed to, as the AI tries to replicate what you raced, but back in those days that was a hard-task)

- Friendly with a huge variety of steering wheels and/or controllers

- Customisable starting position for hot seat mode

That's all I could think about until now guys, I know this can be A LOT, but it is possible thanks to nowadays advancements.

Perhaps adaptive AI, which either gets better or worse over the course of a weekend?
And perhaps a looser weather system, where you can schedule the weather to change after a certain period of time (like modern F1 codies gamers) or perhaps, if we wanna really get creative, have an option where the weather can match the player's current area weather. Like if it's raining irl, it rains in-game.

That'd be wild and it gave me more ideas

About adaptive AI, Grand Prix 4 already had a driver performance and variability, but I felt like it was a bit attached to cars feel too, if you managed to increase the values to the best driver on the grid(schumacher in GP4) on a very bad car, the feel of the car would be way better, only problem would be (in some of the cars) the BHP, which you could manage to edit, too.

So what I'm trying to say is Geoff can separate these features now, separate the car's feeling into different sections, so that even if the driver is at verstappen's level with a Williams, they could not do so much.

Also adding a better variability on the AI perfomance so as you said the can get better or worse.

The weather thing would be nice, while the second weather thing would be a WILD thing, I'd literally loose my mind over it and would LOVE it, but yeah, idk to what point would people trust on a game asking you for your location lmo
