hi everybody,
I have reinstalled the 88 mod but I have a problem with the texture of the Lotus. i remember to have the same thing long time ego with my old pc and a ATI card but now it's always the same thing with my new one and a nvidia card. <if someone has a solution it's would be great. Thanks

Isn't it related to a lod issue ? Texture looks fine in first picture (lod_0) but crap on the other ones (lod_1, lod_2...).
And secondly, can't you have better graphics with your current GPU ? Second picture is strongly pixellized which could be part of your issue as well.
There's a bunch of graphic's specialists out there to help you if needed but I would check first those two points.

threre is only lod 0 in the 88 mod and the problem is only with the lotus.So, I don't know why. I'm playing with the 2021 mod in high resolution with any problem

Copy and paste 4 times the lod0 for both cars and rename them lod1.lod2.lod3 and lod4. Check if it works!

Some graphics cards don't cope well if there is a surface close underneath the main surface and this happens. I've not known a solution for it, only that it's fine on some graphics cards and not on others.
I think it has something to do with z-buffering but I could be wrong.

I'm trying to find out how to contact the author (carrera4) for requesting his permission to release 1988 new cars. Here are the previous one and the new Lotus, much shorter and smaller. Some textures adjustments are still needed.

Concerning my cars from the 1988 mod, it is clear that they have a scale problem (about 10% too big) like this LOTUS which is mine (textures and mapping from Btone), so I have to modify them all , which makes a very important list if we also combine the different 3d models according to the grand prix.
Regarding this display problem of this lotus, it is due to the fact that Lotus Team in 1988 use a structure used until the end of the 80s, it is a frame covered by another in fiber. So I think that the game badly manages this superposition of frame and textures. If you take a good look at these black marks on the screenshots, those are in fact the carbon frame. And you can see also the same bug on the March's front car behind the nose cone.

Sorry to say but for me the carrera4 mod vehicles for rfactor are less accurate than my models, but this is my judgment and you are free to think otherwise ;)

I totally agreed with you mate, I was looking now at this Lotus in-game and am not satisfied with it. I'm not an expert in scale etc. but will try to reduce the size and fix the issue carbon frame, I tried to lower the frame a bit but seems it didn't work. After supposedly fixing it, I'll send it to

When I paint the cardfbd.tex in yellox it's less horrible but the problem that is the brakes are yellow too and a lot of parts of the car

You have to separate the faces underneath the front of the car and assign and remap them to the main texture.

I could do that but I don't know do that. I can make a alpha channel, repaint an existing file but for the rest, there is nobody in the cokpit.(H)
