What about a second release from me in 2 days? LOL
Well, first of all, the "editor" is not exactly and editor either (hence the double quotes LOL) but more of a converter with a 3D preview. With this tool, you'll be able to open and save *.rfb files, which are the prop meshes used by the pitcrew and marshalls (jacks, airguns, etc.), and also import/export them to *.gp4 format. You can therefore create your own mesh, using your favourite 3D modelling tool, save it as a *.gp4 file and use this tool to convert it to a prop *.rfb file. One very important thing to keep in mind is that *.rfb files carry no material/texture data in them, only vertex coords/normals and UV mapping and they will always use
pit_props.tga (that is located in your anim.wad) texture file. It's up to you to either create a new
pit_props.tga for your meshes or make sure that your meshes are compatible with the existing one. Also, the filenames
HAVE TO MATCH the original ones, as they are explicitly referenced in the animations. This
DOES NOT modify the animations (nor pitcrew or marshall meshes) in any way.
Also, before you ask, editing pitcrew and marshall meshes is not as straight forward, as they contain bone data that I still do not fully understand. I am actively working (whenever I have the time) on that and, hopefully, we'll be able to make a tool for that as well. No promises or timelines though! LOL
The editor can be downloaded from
-> MediaFire <-.
