Kimi in the top 3 again. We expect Nico to improve even more. Either way, we have the pace to fight for wins.

Toro Rosso

The performance is as we expected, with Neel outperforming our main drivers yet again.

P5 for Felipe once again is a good improvement for Williams before the season opener. Nick has been kinda off pace to his teammate but I'm sure he'll improve once more. It's going to be a tight and interesting top 5 battle to watch.

Spyker

Our testing improvements look ok. Once again test driver Anthony outpacing Glock and Lotterer which is quite expecting to say. Unfortunately we might be ending up as a potential low-mid team according to the timesheets, but we'll hope for some miracles.

Outstanding start in practice for our man Taku - but you cant win titles with salad in practice.

JV needs to step it up, consistently half a second off Sato, Lauda is looking promising but need to keep faith in our man.

A slow start of the year. We expect to finish in the top 8.

Toro Rosso

We have a long way to go, hopefully we’ll have a car in the top 15

Woeful qualifying from JV, even if he matched his practice time he would have been 10th, to end up 17th is so so poor.

Great to see Sato at the front, all we need is consistent point scoring from Taku

2006 Bahrain Grand Prix

Hello and welcome to the 2006 F1 season opener from the deserts of Bahrain. Yesterday, Juan-Pablo Montoya took pole position for Mclaren ahead of Michael Schumacher and Takuma Sato. Can he convert it to a win? Let's find out.

Lap 57/57

It's lights out and away we go.

A poor start for Schumacher, he's down to 3rd already.

Kubica tags Heidfeld which sends the German into one of the Toyota's and his teammate.

No damage but the impact forces Massa wide.

We have a spinner, it's Vettel.

His spin blocks the track whilst he recovers.

Kobayashi runs into the back of Lotterer and damages his front wing.

Lotterer is out of the race.

Kamui Kobayashi pits.

Lap 56/57

A look at the order after all that chaos.

Lap 55/57

Button passes his teammate for 5th.

Lap 51/57

Finally some action, Di Resta passes Allmendinger for 17th.

Lap 50/57

Trulli and Kubica collide as the BMW tries to overtake the Mclaren.

Trulli pits.

Kubica is out.

Lap 48/57

A look at the order with 10 laps gone.

Lap 43/57

Felipe Massa pits from 4th. He's followed in by Kovalainen and Allmendinger.

Lap 42/57

Alonso, Di Resta, Kobayashi and Raikkonen pit.

Lap 41/57

Montoya is cruising out at the front.

Montoya pits. Barrichello follows him in.

Lap 40/57

Sato, Button and Rosberg make their stops.

Lap 39/57

Vettel, Ralf Schumacher, Villeneuve and Glock pit.

Lap 38/57

Button has managed to jump Massa in the pits.

Ralf Schumacher makes a mistake and spins. He drops right down the order.

Hamilton pits.

Lap 37/57

Incredible! Hamilton has leapfrogged both his teammate and Massa!

Di Resta makes contact with Glock. Glock carries on....

But Di Resta spins and loses a lot of time.

Michael Schumacher and Heidfeld complete the first round of stops.

Lap 36/57

Schumacher is out ahead of Sato!

A look at the order following those stops.

Jarno Trulli pits.

Lap 34/57

Button overtakes Hamilton for 5th.

Lap 33/57

Barrichello runs wide....

And spins. That drops him down the order.

Lap 31/57

Heidfeld runs wide...

And loses a place to Button.

Lap 29/57

Glock has a spin in the Spyker. He drops to 19th.

Lap 28/57

30 laps gone and Montoya still leads.

Lap 22/57

ZZZZZZ, oh Ralf Schumacher and Kamui Kobayashi pit.

Lap 21/57

Kovalainen pits for a new set of tyres.

Lap 20/57

Race leader Montoya is in! Heidfeld, Di Resta, Allmendinger and Glock also come in.

Lap 19/57

Vettel and Villeneuve pit.

Lap 18/57

Rosberg and Barrichello make their second stops.

Lap 16/57

Jenson Button pits and comes out in 6th.

Lap 15/57

Hamilton pits along with Massa.

Lap 14/57

Schumacher and Sato are in. Has going long helped them? Trulli also pits.

Lap 13/57

No, Montoya leads once more.

Lap 10/57

Trulli has a spin in the BMW.

He's collected by Rosberg!

Trulli is out.

Nico Rosberg pits.

Lap 9/57

A look at the order after that action.

Lap 3/57

Schumacher has caught right up to Montoya! Can he pass him for the win?

Lap 0/57

Juan-Pablo Montoya wins the 2006 Bahain Grand Prix!

Michael Schumacher comes home in 2nd.

Takuma Sato 3rd.

So close to scoring a point. Sad to see Rosberg’s race ruined.

Toro Rosso

Kobayashi’s race was destroyed right at the start. Definitely not good for the team.

Really solid result for Taku, a podium on his debut for us, though we can wonder if second was there with a better strategy.

Jv however... 40 seconds down on his teammate, and under pressure already...

A good race so far but some few mishaps cost us some good positions. P6 & P7 from Nick and Felipe is an ultimately ok result. Hope things improve in the next one.

Spyker

Our day seemed well screwed from start to finish... Andre was very unlucky after Kobayashi collided into him meant that his race went short-lived in span of few corners. Timo finishes P16 despite a spin.
Things aren't quite right at the moment for us.

Not an ideal session, we were slower than our sister cars.

Toro Rosso

We outperformed the main team, surely will boost the crew’s morale

An ideal practice session for us. Nick with a surprise 2nd in practice, but that might not change somehow before qualifying. Let's hope we have a good quali.

Spyker

Some good signs there. We'll see how qualifying goes for us but we reckon still going to be difficult.
