ROUND 6 - PORTUGUESE GP - PORTIMAO - RACE

Welcome back to Portugal, it's finally race day here in the sunny Portimao, home boy Paulo SIlva will start in the pole today, and former champion Tobias Kederer at his side in the first row, let's go for the race.

Silva and Kederer are side by side for the start of the race

And it's lights out, Buitenhuis has a great start and it is already by Kederer's side

Silva and Buitenhuis heading down the main straight, Kederer seens to be having some troubles as he has fallen a little behind

Buitenhuis has the inside line

Kederer droped to 5th, also losing positions to Elleker and Pedersen

The new race leader Jeroen Buitenhuis

The other MMM of Gustavo is being attacked by O'Neill

But he manages to stay in front

Hinz is attacking McCarthy

Not a good day for the Tyrants, both in the last places

Buitenhuis completes the first lap and sets the fastest lap

Gustavo trying a move on Soutsen

But he closes the door, almost a contact there

Karda overtakes Scala for the 13th place

Keranen run wide at turn 1

He rejoins in last place, as we can see how the top 10 has progressed

Pedersen is going for a move

He tries a overtake on Elleker

And manages to get, as he sits now in 3rd place

Gustavo is having a lot of action, he is now overtaked by O'Neill

Parachki may be the next one to try it

Everything okay with Kederer's car, as he is now aproaching Elleker

He goes for a move in the main straight

And it's done, Elleker has lost two positions on a short time

Parachki finally going for the move on Gustavo

Done, he now sits in 11th

Gilson locks his tyres

And rejoins in 21th, only behind Keranen

Rodriguez trying a overtake on Bouchard

Done deal

Unseen by the cameras, Soutsen also managed an overtake on Bouchard

Beggani will not be happy with his performance so far

Bouchard going for the payback

But Soutsen closes the door

Majumdar overtakes hi teammate De Bruyker

Scala with a quiet race so far

The Standings after 10 laps

Warrington overtakes Karda

Soutsen going for a move on Rodriguez

Rodriguez closes the door the same way both drivers have already done today

But he runs wide, Radio messages of him complaining about a bump can be heard

Soutsen takes the position

The Pit Stops are now taking place, some oportunity for us to see the pitcrew uniforms

Race leader going for his stop

Parachki lost a lot of time waiting for other drivers to pass by, he was having a decent race

The standings after the stops

Warrington overtakes Gilson back in the field

With the race calming down, we have a chance to see the drivers helmets

Russell went into the pits

Electricals problems for him, such a pity, he was on a good 9th place

Soutsen finds himself right behind Rodriguez again

Rodriguez makes a mistake

Which allows Soutsen to go through

Bouchard may be able to also perform a overtake on Rodriguez

He tries it

And also goes through

Final lap

Buitenhuis wins the Portugueses GP

Silva finishes in second

With Pedersen the final peace of the podium

Final results

Driver best laps

Congratulations to Jeroen Buitenhuis and team MMM, their first victory in the series, we'll see you next time.

Crap result for SCR, to be expected without a team boost I suppose. Nice coverage btw. :-)

A decent finish, but disappointing pace, just couldn't keep up with the cars ahead of me.

Not the best race by me I guess, still we both reached points and that’s good.

Terrible result for both drivers here today. Not much else we can do except regroup and hope for a better outcome in the next round.

Lost the race at the start...

To bad for the home crowd.

Nevertheless, a great result for the championship...

Probably the most disappointing result, well out of the points scoring positions for both cars.

Many thanks for the coverage, great job :)

My race was less great, seems we had not enough pace in the car.

At least we got Pedersen in the points, not quite for Gareth. Tough weekend again.
