Meh, 17th.

P15 for my first ever run in a DMR car in Free Practice... not too bad. Hoping to build on this throughout the year!

In fact I think I'd vote for this, since more variation leeds to more unexpected results, as the now people who qualified well have better chance of staying in front, while in case of what Chris wrote here it would be more fun and some of the back-sitters would have more perf power than it usualy is. As well as deleting drivers time for such unclear reason (probably bug - even if they collided entering the pits, cos real drivers would just stop and not start the extra lap) is not a good idea, and the solution is pretty easy (using a CustomGrid tool). But seems like I'm only the one who likes this idea, so nvm that, I guess

p.s. for others - these 25% doesnt mean that the perf values were wrong at any point

Race has been run and won, getting the coverage up might take a bit, though. I'll try to have it ready by tuesday or wednesday.

What a horrible, horrible weekend so far!
That FP really challenges for the worst GPGSL experience I've had, probably going for 2nd right after losing a sure win in Montreal to technical issues a few seasons back, what eventually cost me the title.

I also apologize to Luis for that pit lane entry crash, although it clearly hit me a lot harder than him. He stayed in the middle of the road and that confused me and made me think he was actually going for a hotlap when he suddenly pulled over for the pitlane. Glad that it didn't influence his practice and while I surely could have used another stint, the qualifying pace made it blatantly clear that I wouldn't have had the pace for points anyway.

I really don't know where our pace has gone for vacation, but we'll clearly have to find it back for the next race! So sorry to our guys to present you with such an undrivable car at this weekend. Just try to make the best out of it.
*heads for a good pint of Austrian beer to flush down the frustration*

Welcome to the Austrian GP at Spielberg.

The weather is fine, not even a single cloud is expected for the race

The grid is awaiting the green lights

Warrington gets a great start

He challenges Buitenhuis for the lead

And gets the job done

Immediately everyone is trying to get the best possible tow from the cars ahead

At the end of the first lap Buitenhuis is challenged by Beggani and Keranen

Behind, Parachki fends off the competition

Russell leads another train of cars

Bouchard gets out of shape and spins into Karda

Keranen and Kederer fight for 4th

Due to the strong tow, the field is staying closely packed

At the end of the field, Gustavo wasn't able to progress much after his qualifying controversy

Aston and Alpha in a private battle

We are in lap 4 and Warrington has opened up a decent gap to Buitenhuis. He is showing some serious speed

Parachki, Kederer and de Bruyker in 5th, 6th and 7th

Back in the pack drivers are jostling for position

Majumdar currently rounding of the points positions

The MTPs with a dual attack on Pedersen

Lap 5 and Elleker is running wide in turn 1

He cuts across the grass and bumps into Soutsen I think

Drama for Elleker, he slides into the wall and is out of the race

Soutsen is pushed back into Pedersen and the MTPs

Meanwhile, de Bruyker and Parachki are fighting for 6th

This helps Silva to close the gap

Karda and Gustavo are still caught at the back of the field

Keranen is starting to put pressure on Buitenhuis for 2nd

And Russell is making a move on Gilson

McCarthy passes Soutsen at the same place, just moments later

Warrington is running away with the race, noone is able to match his pace

No decision in the fight for 2nd. Yet.

Karda having a massive lockup

He loses control and spins off. He has to rejoin in last

Parachki and Silva in close combat. De Bruyker behind will try to capitalise on the situation

However, de Bruyker himself is being attacked by Hinz

Keranen having a close look at Buitenhuis' rear

Hinz passes de Bruyker

This helps Russell to inch closer

Russel is finding a way past de Bruyker. De Bruyker is very unlucky, while his pace seems to be ok he is constantly involved in duels, loosing time in the process

Now he is also passed by Gilson

Keranen is the first to pit for fuel and wheels

Rodriguez with good progress after starting from the back of the grid

More trouble for de Bruyker. He spins off while trying a move on Gilson

He rejoins in front of his teammate

McCarthy is getting it all wrong on the approach to turn 1

He survives without loosing to much time

Slick work by the Lego-pitcrew

Keranen in 15th after his stop

We have reached the half way point of the race, time for a break. Please join us again for the second half of the race!

What's wrong with the car, started on 4th place...with car boost and drivers boost with great perfs and I'm falling down the field...
What a shitty race so far...
Boss, I'm not amused at all :-[

Welcome back to the second half of the race.

Gilson and O'Neill bum into each other on the approach to the pitlane. This seems to be a common theme at this track

Both miss the pit entry

They fall into the clutches of de Bruyker and friends

Keranen is trying to use his fresh tires as good as possible

Kederer in 16th after the stop

Majumdar has a moment, he runs wide into the grass

He somehow makes it back in one piece

A slow stop for O'Neill on his second attempt. His pitcrew was not ready for him

Gilson suffered the same fate. Seems the strategist where overwhelmed by the situation.

The leader pits

Buitenhuis pits after enjoying the lead for a lap

Warrington takes control of the race again

Keranen is in second

Kederer ends up in third after the stops

Parachki tries a move on Buitenhuis. Buitenhuis cuts him off, though

He spins off into the grass

Buitenhuis slides into the path of Russell but avoids contact

Positions 13 to 19 in asingle frame and we are over the halfway point of the race

Gilson misses a corner

He spins but is able to continue

The Mistrals made their way through the traffic and enjoy some quality time at the front of the field

Gustavo goes for a massive overcut and is the last driver to stop

De Bruyker is taking a really wide line into the fast right hander

And he smashes into the barrier. The premature end of a complicated race for him

An unfazed Warrington is in total control

Kederer is attacked

And loses 3rd

Not long after the second mistral is having a go as well

Drama for MMM. Buitenhuis looses it at the Majumdar-corner, but he is less lucky. That is his race over.

At the same moment Gustavo spins off in the first chicane

Majumdar and O'Neill fight for the last point

Unseen by the cameras Beggani has passed Keranen

Hinz is now also on Kederer's tail

And he goes through into 5th

Silva puts the second Mistral into the top 3 as well

Warrington starts his last lap

Meanwhile the fight for the last points is still ongoing

Warrington wins, a stellar performance

Beggani second

Silva third, a great result for Mistral
