F1 Manager - Season 2005 - Chinese Grand Prix [Season Finale]

Amazing job by Rubens, really really great way to start the season, if it weren't for Alonso we could have had both cars inside the points.

Minardi

First points of the season, great debut by Sebastian

Jordan

An unpleasant start to the season. Nico struggled pace-wise, whilst Vitaly's race got ruined by a spin which summed our race a sloopy one. We'll try to have better one next race.
McLaren

Well that couldn't have gone much worse

Not great, but not terrible either. Sato’s pace was stellar, if he had a better qualifying, the win would be his. Montoya’s retirement was a bad moment for him and for us as well, hopefully he’ll be luckier next race.

Toyota

Very pleased to see both cars in the points but serious questions need to be asked as to what happened to Felipe after his second stop!

Scott Dixon - Q16 - R7
Outstanding drive from Dixie on his debut at his pseudo home GP, to start 16th and hit 8th by lap 1 was incredible, and to hold on for his and the teams first 2 points of the season is phenomenal

Jacques Villeneuve - Q14 - R14
Unlucky for JV, raced brilliantly into 9th though disappointing he let Vettel back past. Nearly in the points but for reliability, has looked quick so hoping for points in his future.

On a general team note we’ll be having some strategy conversations, bizarre to decide to leave both out to lap 29/30 only to pit again rather than aim for 1 stop, may have cost an extra point or 2, but fantastic opener after a difficult pre season

McLaren

Fernando managed to drag the best out of what has turned out to be a poor car this year. We are in serious trouble.
Timo needs to up his performance and shouldn't be being beaten by a Minardi

The difference between Rubens and Helio is absurd, something must be happening is Helio's car, he showed great pace in the FP, burt our team did something wrong with the car between those sessions.

Jordan

Another great 10th place for Nico which is another positive qualifying result for Jordan. Vitaly in 20th ahead of a Minardi & an Arrows, though he needs to improve if we want to battle for higher positions.

Hopefully we have a good race after a slightly bad outcome we had in Melbourne.
2005 Malaysian Grand Prix

Lap 1

5 lights out and away we go.

It's as you were for the front two but Barrichello is up into 3rd.

Davidson has made an unbelievable start! He's gone from 11th to 7th.

Lap 2

Hamilton dives down the inside of Davidson for 7th.

A quick look at the current running order.

Montoya makes a move on Massa for 5th.

Lap 3

Massa retakes the place at the end of the pit straight.

A mistake from Hamilton sees him spin down to last place.

Montoya has made the same mistake further on in the lap! He rejoins behind Hamilton.

Lap 4

Sato passes Barrichello for 3rd.

Lap 5

CONTACT! It's Barrichello and Sato.

Barrichello continues in 19th.

Sato in last, a horrible start for Ferrari.

Lap 6

A good time for a running order update?

Alonso passes Davidson.

A mistake from Petrov sees him drop a few places.

Lap 8

No! Now it's Davidson's turn to go off! He was running 5th for Jaguar and is now last.

Lap 9

Another one off, this time it's Villeneuve. The track is definitely slippy out there.

Lap 11

Hamilton has spun his Toyota trying to pass Petrov. That's clumsy from the Brit.

Despite the chaos behind, Raikkonen is flying in the lead with a 10-second gap to his teammate in 2nd.

Lap 12

Hamilton is off AGAIN!

Lap 15

Davidson has another trip into the gravel.

Lap 16

Yes, you're not seeing things. That is Minardi's Bruno Senna passing Ferrari's Montoya around the outside!

Montoya, perhaps a little angry from that move, runs into the back of Senna and spins! He drops to 19th.

Sato now hits Senna and puts the Brazilian in the gravel at the last corner. Poor from the Ferrari drivers.

Lap 20

A look at the running order after 20 laps.

Lotterer and Dixon collide whilst fighting for 6th and drop to 13th and 14th respectively.

Alonso, Maldonado, Montoya, Davidson and Senna pit

Lap 21

Rosberg, Raikkonen and Vettel pit.

Lap 22

Barrichello pits.

Lap 23

De La Rosa and Dixon pit.

Lap 24

Petrov pits.

Lap 25

Sato pits.

Lap 26

Castro-Neves and Kubica pit.

Lap 27

Barrichello runs wide and into the gravel. That drops him to 21st.

Massa, Glock, Klien, Hamilton and Villeneuve pit.

Lap 28

Lotterer and Schumacher pit.

Lap 30

A look at the current order after the pitstops.

Lap 31

Another Minardi v Ferrari scrap! This time it's Vettel that is punted off by Sato. They drop to 12th and 13th.

Lap 34

Another spin for Barrichello. This really has been a day to forget for him.

Lap 35

Surely not! Have Minardi and Ferrari got some form of war going on? Now Montoya hits the back of Vettel causing them both to drop places.

Off goes Kubica! That drops him to 21st.

Lap 36

Dixon goes past Klien for 9th.

Lap 40

The order with 40 laps gone.

Lap 41

Schumacher, Massa and Davidson pit.

Lap 42

Castro-Neves, De La Rosa, Senna, Dixon and Maldonado pit.

Lap 43

Castro-Neves retires with suspension failure. A shame for him with him running in the points.

Contact between Davidson and Vettel. Both carry on way down the field.

Sato pits.

Lap 45

Alonso, Montoya and Raikkonen pit.

Lap 46

A mistake from Alonso but the Spaniard manages to steer into the slide....

And continue in 6th. What incredible driving!

Barrichello pits.

Lap 47

Glock and Villeneuve pit.

Lap 48

Sato passes Lotterer.

Rosberg, Hamilton and Kubica pit.

Lap 49

Klien, Petrov and Vettel pit.

Lap 51

A look at the current order.

Vettel is out, looks like an oil leak and engine fire.

Lap 52

De La Rosa passes Rosberg for 5th.

Lap 53

Rosberg takes back 5th.

Lap 55

Dixon spins and drops to 12th.

Lap 56

HANG ON! RAIKKONEN IS SLOWING!!

DISASTER! A transmission failure has robbed Raikkonen of a dominant race victory!

Michael Schumacher takes the win.

Massa comes 2nd for Toyota.

Alonso brings his Mclaren home in 3rd.

Two cars in the top 10 but outside the points. God dammit, we were so close!!!

Dominik Karda | MAC Racing - #7 - Race Driver
Ferrari

We are definitely NOT happy with our drivers’ actions on the track. Such performance is unacceptable. 6th place is not what we wanted from this race.

Jordan

An incredible performance from Nico to finish 4th! We're very happy with his drive in Malaysia. Meanwhile, Vitaly didn't seem to pick up his rhythm sadly after a mistake. Great day so far for us.
McLaren

Never expected a double points finish, let alone a podium, gets our season up and running.

A poor race from Lewis but a great drive from Felipe to bring it home in 2nd.

Quite simply piss poor, great practixe and a solid quali should have had us scoring points, to leave empty handed is very disappointing

Jacques Villeneuve Q9 - R14
Great quali to put it in 9th, and managed to be 13th by the first corner whilst spinning threw away any hope of a point, 4/10

Scott Dixon Q14 R11
Reverse of JV, poor quali but fought back, looked dead set for points before crashing to another driver and then spinning 5/10

Seems like we're starting to fall behind a bit in Bahrain. Nico P15 and Vitaly P21 could set to be a tough race ahead for us. We'll see how we go well.
