Oh, so I shouldn't download from him ? What can of scum reaps tracks from other's work and just sell them, seriously...
Sorry guys but I didn't understand.... I see that person post on youtube the track links for free....
I didn't know he would steal other people's works and then resell them.

Andrea.
I've just tried it today, thanks to Davide and Jorge, brilliant effort and such an amazing track!

Great work! Thanks!
I'm not a lawyer, nor am I offering legal advice or counsel, but since your works are original creations, surely you could put a short copyright statement as a text file; maybe in the track.wad itself.

The thief might detect the trap it and delete it, but it would allow you to approach ebay etc and show proof of claim (and you could hide a simple [(c) 2021xxxx Author name] in some of the texs too, where it would never be found as a second line of defence. This would enable you to show fraudulent intent once the thief denies they deleted the text file!).

Just saying.

My own view is that if people are dumb enough to buy something they could get for free it's their problem. I myself sold a (non-GP4 related) item on ebay for a year or two at twice the price I was buying it from elsewhere online, but that was just business, right?

In this case however, while I have the greatest sympathy with the authors seeing their work being sold without credit or recompense I have to point out that you gave it for free - so really anything after that is not your concern in a sense. On the other hand, if you copyright it, it becomes a different matter.

After all these years I doubt I'm saying anything that hasn't already been said, but I would have thought by now that we could have come up with a standardized copyright statement in the FAQ section of the site authorising free distribution only for anyone to use.

As I understand it, even if written correctly, thieves would STILL be able to sell it on ebay, but they would have to show that they were only seeking to cover the costs of doing so, which could easily be shown to be negligible. Whether we could get ebay to enforce this or not is another matter, but at least we'd be on some sort of solid ground.

What's my interest? Well, I love your work - and that goes for all of you who contribute - and for our community to lose the efforts of anyone due to something which I think could be tackled better makes me sad.

Keep it up guys. We might not be putting anything in your pocket, but you are appreciated more than you'll ever know.
Thanks for fantastic track Mugello(Y)

Maybe you're the one with the problem.

I offered a considered perspective on part of the discussion in this thread. If you feel it's misguided you are free to counter, or ignore it as you wish: but spare me your petty posturing.
A recent post has been reported. I don't see anything wrong with it so I'm going to leave it up. I'll take this opportunity to remind everyone of the rules here regarding freedom of speech. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you don't like it I respectfully suggest that you just move along. That is all, any further infractions I will close the topic for 24 hours in response.
