I did find two 'battle'/gap graphics a bit much, and I like to leave the top left clear for the gpxpatch items, so I've personally disabled that.
Similarly, perhaps have the option of the 2020 HUD and the Halo HUD in the same selection, again I doubt you'd want both.

Has anyone played about with the slipstream effect much? I know there are some who don't like it at all, but I've tried to make every figure in the 90's, but I'm stuck by the setups on the tracks as the cars get the tow, but then hit the rev limiter. Are the setups on the magic data for each track?

Thanks again for all the posts, advices and fixes! We are getting closer to get this community project in a state that is worthy to be published! :-)

Great, the panels seem to be working now:

About the halo hud: Unfortunately, we won't have it (for permission reasons).

@fongu: Thank you for the updated slipstream-file, i like it and added it to the mod (those who don't like it can still disable it)!

Still open:
- A fix for the shadow issue (shadow remains, even if parts of the car break of):

- Logos still don't show up in the menu for me (i must be doing something wrong, i tried it on two different screens). i'll send you the current state of the mod Ricardo, maybe you can have a look at it.
- Rear light (thank you Excalibur for having a look)
- A texture update for Hulk's racing point (first screenshot in this post) :-)
- A new event sound set (i'm working on it, it takes a hell of a lot of time, i might update this part of the mod later that year)
- internal and external steering wheels are still from 2019 (not a big problem, since they haven't changed much, i think)
- An update for the engine sounds (the soundfile is from 2018 oder 2017 i believe)
- If we could add 2020 pitboxes would be great as well (i've seen there is an option for that in csm)

I think leave the pitboxes to the track updaters :)

Carl have you had a look here: [www.grandprixgames.org]
It seems that logoes problem is related to gpi pixel size.

I see your point. :-) on the other hand, we would have the right pitboxes for those tracks that are not updated yet.

fixed this one at least ;-) there was a setting which would automatically set the shadows to "static" instead of "projected" in the f1graphics.cfg. i disable it (those who want to use static or composite shadows can still enable it in their own f1graphics.cfg).

And a late night question to the experts:
i see there is an option to add files to a specific wad in swap.ini, example:
[AddFilesToWad1]
TargetFile	=anim.wad
...

is it possible to add specific files to specific track-wad files, but without refering to the original wad-name (like monza2001.wad)? since different people use different tracksets with different names.
the reference must be something like "track01, track02, ...". is that possible? i would like to add my trackspecific startinglights to the mod.

It's best to use the add to wad bit in the TSM setting files rather than doing it on the CSM side. I can only assume people store their tracks in different places, making it rather difficult to use CSM to manage it.

Similarly with the pitboxes, it would require all the tracks to use the same pitbox shapes, textures and mapping and I'm not sure that's the case. At the time CSM was made, there was some coordination with track makers to use the 'PLUS' system, where there was standardised pitboxes which made it possible.

well, that makes sense to me. Thank you Kev. i will add the startinglights to an extras-folder then, so people can update their tracks manually by using wad updater.

fixed the problem with the rear lights;
in gp4tweak.ini, this line was set to "0" (pretty dumb, actually).
RearLightBrake  = 1

thank you for testing Riccardo! doesn't it have something to do with this GPH-file? Petrus explained it in another topic (to use higher resolutions in menu images). Do you use a modified gph-file? because the driver images are in default resolution (i converted the orginal png-images from f1.com) and they work for me (on my notebook: 3840x2160 and on my desktop pc: 3440x1440) . so probably the logos (they are yours) are only shown with this modified gph-file (and to be honest, i never understood how to modify it).

The logos are gpi files , not gph files. Let's continue trying ad testing!
In the last version , the panels are not working here , just the HUD and pitboard. Will have a look at it

The GPH file manages the size of the GPI files. In the case of hi-res GPI files it is necessary to modify the GPH file to allow correct reading and display in the game as explained by petrus. So the solution would be to edit the GPH file and use the file swap with the CSM

yes, that's what i mean. if you have a modified gph-file in your gp4 directory, the gpi-files in this mod will no work because they are all in standard resolution.
