Great new ! I look forward to download it. Please, will it be possible to convert ourselfs the cockpits with a halo by taking those of mod 2018 for example ? At the beginning, I didn't like driving with a halo, now I can not run without it, the halo is boring no more for me :-)

Thank you to everybody who has tested the mod so far gave me feedback!
I think we could encounter and fix many issues already. It will still need some time to finish the mod, but therefor it will hopefully be in a good quality.

Issues that are still open:
- Panels & hud not beeing displayed correctly on some screens
- Rear light not working on some cars
- Team logos don't appear in-game
- when "all tracks" are selected, the game won't load the generic performance data and also the bik-file for the first track instead the default one.
- the shadows for the cars don't work properly, if the cars looses some parts (front wing f. e.), the shadow will still show the entire car. does anybody know how the shadow-tex-file works and how to fix that?

about lower lods and lower textures: i have added a low-res-texture option. for the lods it's not possible because the cars have been built on lod0 only.

this and some more problems still need to be fixed. after that i will be able to post a first version here.

I would like to bring some precisions concerning the lower lods and why we are not making them anymore:
1- Most of the PC spec nowadays can handle lower lods only. As I reported to Carl, the mod is very well optimized. I started a race from the last position at Brazil GP on the grid. PO= 28% On the first Corner, PO= 65%. I have never exceded 68%.
2- The lods_0 are heavy (4mb for lod_0 nowadays/ 2mb for lod_0 in the past). We almost reached the GP4 limits of the faces and vertices for each car to keep the best quality possible. With lower lods based on heavy lods_0, it would mean 88 lower lods more and 202mb aded to a 1,6Gb cars.wad with no PO reduced (maybe the inverted desired effect) but with longer loading screens (and could cause crashes)
3- Originally, GP4 was built for x86 architecture with 2Gb ram (P4, dual core or equivalent). Nowadays, with at least 4GB ram and 3-5 cores minimum and a 3Ghz processor , lower lods are not needed ... But, I encourage everyone to apply the 4GB patch on the GP4.exe (safe)

To resume:
- Lower lods based on heavy lods_0 may cause still high PO/ PO increasing/ freezes in game/ crashes (heavy lods_0 = heavy_lower lods because transition between each lod has to be smooth)
- Better is to reduce high textures if high PO
- Applying the 4GB patch on the gp4.exe today is needed after GP4 installation to reduce PO.
- High PO is not due because of cars lods_0 only but also tyres, helmets, tracks, others gp4 files and MISC... My advice is to make a fresh standalone GP4 installation for each mod so files or settings can't interact and cause troubles between different mods or manual and mods installation.

Thank you as well for your explanations about the LOD's, it's very understandable now!

Another thing: Thanks to gitanes, i have been able to fix the bug where the cars would crash in the first corner in monza. The fix is the same for the 2019 mod (i told it to MSchumi24 already).

I have updated the logos to 2020 ( HD and normal ) and they are working in the MOD. However, you have to check the resolution, for instance, in my PC is 1600X900 and having that I am able to have the logos in HD (size 400x99). However, if you use some other resolutions, you can have double images, as you can see the drivers in the images below (logos are HD but the drivers and gridcars are normal, 200x99).
Maybe you can create in the globalvars a path for more than one resolution ( horizontal x vertical ) , then people could choose their preference ( the MOD I sent to you already works in this way) . Also , Petrus have created a very interesting stuff for the 2020 Indycar MOD in which you can select through the CSM which size of teamart you prefer to use . The right panel of the 2020 New TV Style was not working , you have to add in the settings/swap.ini this line : =GpxPatch\pnl\2020 New TV Style\right_panel,gpxpdata\pnl\2020 New TV Style\right_panel




All the panels are working well here ( again resolution 1600x900 ) excepting the Halo Hud 2020 , don't know why yet. I've found out that the gpxpatch has not recognizing the halo_hud_2020.ini as you can see in the images below . in my MOD first ( all good ) and then in yours . I will try to sort this problem out , usually is something quite simple.





Finally the settings of the rear lights in the teams are wrong into the gp4tweak_merge and probably that's why they are not working . I made some modifications and they worked in the rain but didn't work in the normal weather. Again , should be simple but means working in the tweaker and in the settings to find out which settings are wrong. Anyhow , everything is working well in my MOD , feel free to use if you wish.

Sorry for the long post , I think doing this other people can read and help to finalize the MOD quickly. And congrats for the initiative , this is a tough task !
