Could this be the reason I am 20th with a boost?

That, or we need a new boost system...probably the boost system thing...

You keep on complaining about the boost system, yet I haven't seen you make a single suggestion as to how it could be improved. Not to mention that the current one probably is the best the league had since I joined (i.e. S6). As far as I remember, ever since the driver boost has been increased to 200, there has only been a single win of an unboosted driver, that being Michael in Brazil last season. And the pyramid team boost system has allowed new teams to be able to compete for podiums/wins pretty much from the get-go.

As for 2 boosted drivers being down the order this quali session, with the split session (11/11 cars on track) it happens quite often that someone gets held up, especially on tracks with low laptimes. And since the AI leaves the pits mostly in similar order for both runs, it's not unusual to happen twice to the same driver.

You are spot on correct. I have indeed complained many times about the boost system. However, I have offered what I believe to be a more than viable and a lot more effective solution on a number of occasions. That being, use a system similar to the one that used to be used in the GPG Nations Cup. It actually gives team bosses something to do other than paint a car and then twiddle their thumbs all season and it adds an element of strategy trying to figure when to use your boost. To me, at the moment, there is no strategy element as using a boost very rarely feels like it pays off and when you do boost you get caught at the back of the grid.

The GPGNC boost system originated from the limitations of the game back then, meaning both cars in a team have the same amount of BHP. So you could only work with the skill value in order to allow 2 people in 1 team to act independent, and had to lock BHP at the same value for all 22.
If you want team bosses to distribute skill points instead of BHP, driver boosts become rather pointless, meaning drivers would twiddle their thumbs all season. Also it doesn't answer what to do with BHP. Leave it as it is now, so that there will always be gaps between teams that can't be bridged by boost usage? Or lock them all at the same value, removing every last bit of development/growth of teams over seasons.

Arguably, the current system sees teams rise and fall far quicker than in the past, but wasn't that what people wanted? No more domination of 2-3 teams over several seasons, just because they're the longest running.

8th and 12th a decent showing in quali. Hopefully it can go even better in the race!

It's hard to please everybody.

Myself have criticised, in the last round, the fact that the Pole Sitter didn't have boost and that have annoying me a bit, but the truth is that i can't do better than you guys are doing at the moment with the series.
So thank you all for the great effort you guys are doing. You all have my respect despite all the "small" errors. Keep up your good all of you! :)

It’s the track variation that affects the performance of the drivers, to a point where a boost won’t help you much, or you can do pretty well without the need of a boost. Here lie the issues that plague certain drivers with boosts, both in quali and race.

Not too bad actually (Y)

Disappointing weekend for me, glad the boss was able to score some points
Well, another lost race.

How come my team was pretty decent last year and dead last this year? There only is a very small difference between HPs, but my team is nearly always last on the grid. And being completely shut out of victories without boost is not great either.

But lets see what happens in the race.

ps: I agree with CaptinFranko. We should see if there are some ways to improve the series a little bit, and making it more strategical and less dependent on just luck.

10th place in qualifying. Not bad, but a bit troubling. We'll see how the race pans out for us.
POLE! WOO HOO!! Did not see that coming! :-o;)(H)

Demon Racing Press Release

With recent driver announcements having been made by other teams, we can reveal that Michael Pedersen will be a contracted driver for Demon Racing as of Season 15. Negotiations between Michael and DMR have been ongoing for a number of weeks, once his place at MAC Racing was determined.

On the back of the pole winning run here in Montreal, we feel now is the perfect time and place to release this small bit of news to the GPGSL community.

Michael's exact future within the GPGSL is yet to be determined, and a definitive announcement will come in the not too distant future.

Christopher Hinz in 7th, has current championship leader Marcus De Bruyker breathing down his neck....

Daniel Bouchard up to 9th in front of his native crowd...

Ruben Greidanus down in 13th, currently unable to match the pace of his team mate....

Jeroen Buitenhuis in the MMM, sits in 14th spot....

Jack Elleker in 15th, will be hoping the race improves for him....

Ennis Praachki in 16th for SCR....

Ryo Sakata in 17th for Christel....

And the second Christel of Luke Russell behind....

De Bruyker has spooked Hinz ahead of him, into a bit of defensive driving...

Hinz moves straight back in front of the Tyrant driver....

A locked brake from the Tyrant driver, as he taps the AMR ahead of him....

The AMR of Hinz is off in the gravel at the hairpin, having been punted by De Bruyker....

Hinz's attempt to block the Tyrant behind him unsuccessful, the German now off track, almost in the fence at the bottom of the hairpin....

Hinz is able to recover, but....

He reverses back up the track, way past the apex of the corner!!

With Pedersen just under 6 seconds ahead, Rodriguez has cleared away from his team mate Scala...

Scala in 3rd, with a 3 second gap back to Karda behind him...

A full look at the current standings, as we see the first indication of pit stops to begin soon....

McClure in 5th, with Kederer just a way back, in pursuit...

Karda lurking behind Kederer, as we near the pit stops...

Rodriguez the first in pit lane, with a bunch of cars on the front straight....

The two Christels also appear in the distance, side by side heading towards the chicane...

Neither of the team mates wanted to give up, which causes a bit of trouble...

Sakata comes off second best, with Russell steaming on ahead....

The Japanese driver escapes damage, but loses plenty of time....

Back onto the track for Sakata...

And now to throw in another bizarre extra, we have light rain at the hairpin....

Positions 1-8.....

Positions 9-16....

Positions 17-22...

So, after a few big moments in this race already, we head to commercials....
Big notes to come out of the opening part of this race : What happened to that engine of the MMM? What was Vilela thinking going so hard, so early? What would McCarthy be thinking, with his team mate ruining his and the teams entire day? What would the DMR team manager be thinking right now....??

Find out, after the break.....

That didn't go well, bugger! No anger towards to my team mate, if you no longer go for a gap you're no longer a race driver and all that
So after the boost, qualifying last - only people overtaken are my teammate or people having accidents, what a poor season
