Possible to edit the heat haze size?

Hello,

I actually like the heat haze effect, but would like it to be way smaller. For example just a few meters over the ground but not up to the sky like it is now.
Is there a known way to change it? In f1graphics.cfg we can change the resolution of the haze but as far as i undestand not the size.
Does it have anything to do with these lines in gp4.exe?
