You have polished the cars very well.

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Can you do this for both the 1996 McLaren and 2000 BAR?

My latest attempt at rendering. The 1989 McLaren. More angles in the first post.

nice renders :)
You could do the bodylines via normalmaps, and hide the respective layers on the texture. Also hide the shadings layer if you haven't already done so.

What are normal maps and how do I use them?

Your renders are great, especially with the Hdri outdoor environment and lights. (Y):-)
If I may suggest, you could improve the render of the tyres treads, to make them less shiny and with more roughness.
I don't work with Dimension but it seems quite close from Keyshot.
Try to play with these settings (or equivalent into Dimension) on the tread material:

This should hopefully explain what they are [wiki.polycount.com]

As for the how, no idea, google is your friend. I can only tell you how to use them in Blender.

I took a few artistic liberties with this one and added the blue to the front and rear wing and behind the drivers head rest just to give it a more modern feel.
