GPGSL Rd 13 Portuguese GP – Race - Part 1

Welcome back to the last part of this race...

Pedersen is really close to Gilson now

Oh no! Paulo Silva's engine has blown out

He must be very upset with his Matra partners

End of the race for the home boy

The pit stops are now starting, vilela and Kederer are the first, followed by Cronin

Pedersen is trying a move on Gilson

And away he goes, 2nd place for the championship leader

Hinz and McClure are also stoping

Elleker is in the gravel, waht must have happened

He manages to return

But wait, Rodriguez is out in the gravel, and missing a rear wheel

Replay shows Elleker trying to overtake Rodriguez in turn 1

They touch

It was a hard hit by Rodriguez in the wall, but he seems to be alright

Jalving was also in the pits

Elleker and Warrington are in for their pit stops

Greidanus is running in 10th, but he still has to make his mandatory pit stop

Pedersen is in the pits

And he returns in 5th

Buitenhuis is also in the pits

Hinz is making an overtake on Greidanus

And they touch, another incident with an AMR in turn 1

Greidanus loses his rear wing, a race to forget for him

While Hinz returns in 9th place unhurt

Racing leaders Scala, Gilson and Keranen all in for their pit stops

And while we see Gustavo going in for his stop, we can also see a race control message

I'ts Pedersen, the championship leader who was also in 2nd has a transmission failure

End of the road for him today

Kederer only has to finish inside the points now to be in a good position in the last round

Sakata who was leading the race finally pits

With this, Scala is back to the first place

Another driver is outside of the track

Is Keranen, and he is going to retire for sure, his car has two problems

Not a good place to park the car though

The Standings after the pit stops

Kederer will be the new championship leader if he finishes with this 4th place

Cronin right now with an impressive 7th place

Followed by McClure

And Jalving

Vitor Gustavo puts both MMM inside the points

And is followed by the remaining 2KF1 of Buitenhuis

Elleker is the last driver inside the points so far

The Fastest laps so far

Vitor Gustavo is pushing, trying to get close to Buitenhuis

Greidanus is now in last place

And is about to be -1 lap

With two laps to go, Scala finally laps Greidanus

Seems like Sakata is getting close to Kederer, but they have only two laps remaining

Scala starts the final lap

And Sakata goes for the overtake

It's going to be in turn 1

They are side by side

Kederer almost runs wide

But in the end manages to stay in front of the Japanese

Scala wins the first Portuguese GP in the history of the GPGSL

Gilson in 2nd

Vilela in 3rd

Kederer finishes in 4th

With Sakata right in his neck

Hinz in 6th

Cronin with an impressive 7th place in his first race

McClure in 8th

Jalving in 9th, after starting from last place, this is a good finish position

Buitenhuis in 10th

Gustavo in 11th

And Elleker with the last point

Good job by Zak and Vitor, those points are really important to us. But seeing that we don't have any boost left, it will be a tough last round.

And there it is

What a brilliant opportunity to get a top 5, judging by the pace might have even pushed for fourth? I doubt I'll be having that much pace in the final round, that was the last great chance to do something in my own car xD
Devestating.
Good day for DMR. Well done lads....

Oh boy, 6 point lead now if I'm not mistaken. Nailbiter to the end.

Re final round FP, don't see the sudden issue with the feature race? It's been done in the past too for the final round, without anyone making a fuss over it.

Debut points are just the best...
Thanks Hinz for ruining my race, it was not for the first time.

A fortunate race with some issues for the other contenders - good to be able to have the title destiny in our hands now going into the final round.

Unlucky for Sean who looked on for a good result.

Awful race / awful season...

-----------------------------------------------------

Clearly a race to forget from all of us! Lets regroup and go for a do or die tactic at Silverstone!

Well done to Scala and Kederer :)
Pretty awful race, only gained places by not crashing and pushing others off...

Too bad I couldn't get Toby behind me in the end! I tried. :-)

Great coverage from Nata for this round! Superb stuff. Just taken the time to look through the race coverage, lots of action. A joy to see my two cars get through unscathed for a change. Hoo-bloody-ray!!!!

No one is making a fuss over it, yet :) Perfectly happy to have a feature race, and see what luck is rolled out.....

Keep your mind on your job at hand : the WDC is yours for the taking - no more bridesmaid for Tobi. :)

Absolutely ridiculous! Double boost and absolutely nothing! I still remain stuck to my guns about renovating the boost system. A good drive by Ryo though. He is showing some pleasing pace now that he has settled into the car.

The amount of boost points should be increased from 200 to 400 for a driver.
