That’s a great qualifying session! I think probably our best ever! Hoping for a strong result in the race now.

Yet another mixed bag for DMR in qualifying. Was hoping with the driver lineup announcement, stress levels would be low, and our entire team would fire in the Qualy session - not quite to plan....

Definitely outperformed the car here, not that Jeroen did poorly.

Welcome back to Day 2 @ Baku.
In a break from the traditional schedule, our Test Drivers were moved to our second session of the weekend here in Baku.
GPGTV directors are taking the opportunity to show off the drivers a bit in this session, giving all drivers a bit of helmet time, with the recent changes of camera angles available
First to set a time in the session, Chris Copeman...
Aidan Keranen next across the line...
Then comes Glen Sheppard...
Next up, Gareth McCarthy who moves to the top....
Then John Maverick, not far off the pace, but in 5th....
Eric Moinet 0.6 off the pace so far....
Sandro Calligaris puts in a stunning lap, to go fastest...
Anderson Savio impresses, with 3rd fastest...
Jeroen Buitenhuis down in 9th with that new Merc engine, not quite tuned into the chassis...
Mal Stoddart slots the SCR of his into 5th....
And then Stuart Ingers closing out the first group of drivers, in 8th spot...
Second batch of drivers out on track, and it is Nata Cremasco in 7th....
Series newcomer Zak Cronin wows the field, leaping into 3rd spot in his first ever lap....
Edward Williams, also a bit of a fresh rookie still, goes 8th...
Michael Soutsen in the Ferrari powered MMM entry, shoots into 2nd....
Dominik Karda with a nicely boosted Alpha, goes 2nd fastest....
Nathan McGregor in the MAC, 0,5 down, sits in 12th....
Alpha team boss Ed Greenhalgh can only manage 12th on his first lap...
Greg O'Brien in the Tyrant, then takes over the 12th spot....
Giovanna Michail does a nice job, popping up as 8th fastest....
Joseph Gilson has some speed, with a 2nd fastest time so far...
And our final driver to set a time, Aritra Majumdar, nearly a second off the pace, finds himself in 20th...
All cars with a lap on the board now....
Aiden Keranen sits in the pits, in his 2KF1 machine ready to hit the track again....
Stu Ingers improves on his final run, but way down in 18th for him so far....
Keranen takes a slice off his previous best, moving up to 7th....
Calligaris can't match his earlier time....
Gareth McCarthy up to 4th on his final flying lap...
Eric Moinet improves, but he is languishing way down in 20th, and out of the points today....
Buitenhuis improves as well, and he now is 20th fastest....
John Maverick can't improve, and he is stuck down in 17th....
Chris Copeman takes a giant leap up the order, wiping off nearly 0.8 seconds off his previous best lap....
Stoddart clings onto the final point for now....
Sheppard improves, moving to 7th quickest....
Soutsen up to 3rd, with a gain of 0.2 seconds...
Cremasco improves, but can't break into the points...
Williams is unable to improve his time from the first run....
Michail with the 8th fastest lap....
Savio unable to beat his previous lap, hangs in with 11th so far...
The new guy in the paddock, Zak Cronin with a good day, in 9th with just a few cars left to cross the line....
An off day for Greenhalgh, nearly 0.6 off the pace
O'Brien unable to make an impact today either, down in 15th...
But it is Karda who makes some noise today in the Alpha, going to the top spot with just a few cars to come after him on track....
Gilson was tucked in behind Karda, but can't beat him : 2nd for the SCR driver....
Majumdar 20th in the Tyrant....
And the last man to close the session, McGregor swipes 0.5 off his earlier effort, to climb to 5th...
But today's fastest driver, Dominik Karda for Alpha Motorsports!

eh not bad, was hoping for a bit more after last round but cant complain.
Congrats to Dom for being fastest driver in the free practice. Shows that the Alpha cars can perform well here at Baku.
