A great idea for those of us that don't play on the latest PCs. However, I do remember someone did a similar project covering the years 2012-2018 (can't remember the name). Anyway, I'm sure most will agree the the original body shapes were 'orrible and that the Tex files were complicated to modify (although some did manage it). So, a few years back I thought I'd 'have a go' at a making a carset. I figured on using one generic shape for the whole field, using the same Tex template for each. Simples! I looked around for a nicer carshape, that didn't have too much detail (vertices) and had the reducing Lods to go with it, plus it should have a set of Tex files that a decent painter could easily modify, and I found it. It's called Dahie(SCL03). It used to be available via the GP4 Database, but that seems to be all screwed up now. However, I have a copy and will send it to anyone who wants it. I would attach it or link it here but I haven't a clue how to do it. My use of paint programs is crap as well, which is why I never pursued the project.
