If I'm not mistaken you can do it from the Magic Data.

In the corresponding .md3 string "rain chance" (%).

Where can I find it? In which file is it?

Thanks.

Open DAT-file > Click on Track Sectors > Click on Initial Sector > Click on Show Magic Data in the Track Properties dialog box > Go to line 78; Rain Chance (%) > Change value and save DAT-file.

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I opened "S1CT01.DAT" with the last version of GP4 Builder.
It read all, except when i click on "Show Magic Data".
When I open the dialog box there's just a button (Import md3) but, what do i have to import??? :(

A blank is not gonna be that useful to you;)

You can download what you need from the link:

S1CT01.DAT = magic4_01.md3

I try to extract md3 file from S1CTXX.DAT, but the program says "This track file doesn't contain costum magic data".
So I don't know where I find them.. :(

For the original circuits the magic information is stored in the GP4.EXE.
Go to Edit and select create from gp4.exe

Select the track number you wish to extract, one at a time, and click OK.
The magic data file will be created and simply placed in the same folder as the Cmagic4_102.exe is stored.

You should be aware that I am not following this topic:-)

Doesn't work.
The only value red is LAPS.
Nothing else.

Why??

Import the magic file that you created earlier...

Thanks man.

I've fix it in a strange way.. 'cause if i loaded "S1CTXX.DAT" in GP BUILDER 2017B (last version obviously) in the FILE DETAILS section, it red that there weren't magic data files inside.
So I extracted with CMagic4 1.02 the md3 files for each track from gp4.exe, loaded them in the tracks editor and.. everything works.

So you can edit line 78 with % of rain but... you can't change the value of HOW MUCH rain will fall.

I mean.. for realistic conditions (for example), in Malesia we could find a 40% of rain chance, and if it happens, we should have a heavy rainy-thunderstorm conditions, not drizzle or similar.

What do you think?

I don't think you can determine the actual amount of rain during the race. It seems to be based completely on the random number generator. With GPxPatch you can record the random seed to make sure you can have the same weather again by using that seed, but that's about it. You can collect some seeds this way with different kinds of weather and later choose one of them to your liking.

Hello guys.. a new issue! :(

I extracted with CMagic4 1.02 the md3 files for each track from gp4.exe and insert them in GP BUILDER 2017B.
I modified a parameter (ex. 78 line), but, once I saved "S1CTXX.DAT" file, exported the new one instead of default and loaded in gpxpatch setting "tracks.set" correctly, no change in game viewed!

Even if I load it in CMagic4 1.02, the program says "This track file doesn't contain costum magic data".

Why??? It seems that GP BUILDER 2017B doesn't save in DAT file the md3 info.

Sure I forgot something.. :(:(

I use both apps. GP4 builder to modify MD, then export/create the .md3 file; then insert it in the .dat with CMagic
It works 4 me...
