8th gear

Hi guys, how do I enable 8th gear for a non-CSM user? So far the only guide I've found is to enable one only for CSM. Wondering if it's also possible without CSM...

There is no way to have eight gears in gp4. The game is hard coded to have either six or seven gears only. There is a rev counter mod which makes it appear like there is eight gears and yes, it does work in a non csm mod.

Has anyone a link to that rev counter? I would also like to have "8 gears", so no first gear. Maybe someone has a link to download that? Thank you!

In any Rev Counter you can rename the second gear Tga file as first gear (eliminating it) and the others below. It's a fiction, but it gives the impression of having seven marches. Do the same with the third gear if you want to see eight.

Ok, if have downloaded the new 2018 hud. Can you tell me which files I have to change in the GP4 main directory? Which folder is it? Thanks.

Now I'm not at hand, but if I remember correctly, unpacked the RAR, you will find a folder "2018 New Hud (which then you will have to copy in the "pnl" folder of "gpxdata" ) and Tga files of the exchange inside they are called "1", "2", etc. You can check by opening it with any decent image editor, then make copies and rename the "2" in "1", the "3 in "2" and the others to follow, if you want to have 7 gears, the "3" in "1" etc. if you want to have 8 speeds.It is clear that the car will start in second or third speed.You will probably notice it at the start, but I can assure you that then you will not notice it anymore.
