Replacing car textures problem

Hi guys,

I'm trying to replace my Williams car with the True North BMW car from GPGSL season 8.
My ZaZ tools are not working, i get the message "csmgui126 stopped working". (<-- Tried every possible solution I could find, nothing works)
So I'm trying to do this manually by using WadUpdater and TexResizer.
This is my problem:

For the True North car there are only 2 tex files: hi_TNR and cp_TNR
For the Williams (in the original cars.wad), there are 4 tex files: hi_williams_1, hi_wiliams_2, hi_williams_3 and cp_williams

The hi_TNR cp_TNR files look like this:

The williams texs look like this:

The williams cp tex is obviously just the cockpit only.

My question is, how do I do this? How do I replace my Williams with True North?
I'm clearly missing something or doing something wrong..
Thanks in advance:)

The point is TNR and Williams are two different carshapes, thus textures from one doesn't fit on the shape of the other one.
What you need to do is install TNR's S8 carshape into the mod you're using. I don't remember which one it was but you can find it in the GPGSL thread of that season.

Should be the ZG02. Cockpit shape also is a different one, so the TNR texture won't work for it. And changing cockpit shape will render the other 10 textures useless.

When you replace the shape in the wad, you'll also have to adjust tyre, helmet, wheel, etc. coordinates.

Thanks for the answers guys!

But which files need to be overwritten or what should I rename the TNR texture to if I want to replace the Williams car?

You have to rename the carshape of the TNR to Williams and overwrite the same files in the wad:

Car_TNR_Car1_Lod_0 > Car_Williams_Car1_Lod_0
Car_TNR_Car1_Lod_1 > Car_Williams_Car1_Lod_1
Car_TNR_Car1_Lod_2 > Car_Williams_Car1_Lod_2
Car_TNR_Car1_Lod_3 > Car_Williams_Car1_Lod_3
Car_TNR_Car1_Lod_4 > Car_Williams_Car1_Lod_4
Car_TNR_Car2_Lod_0 > Car_Williams_Car2_Lod_0
Car_TNR_Car2_Lod_1 > Car_Williams_Car2_Lod_1
Car_TNR_Car2_Lod_2 > Car_Williams_Car2_Lod_2
Car_TNR_Car2_Lod_3 > Car_Williams_Car2_Lod_3
Car_TNR_Car2_Lod_4 > Car_Williams_Car2_Lod_4

I did that, but what do I name the hi_TNR.tex? Right now I've named it hi_williams.tex but I get a white car in game.. the carshape is working tho, same as for the cockpit which I named cp_williams.tex!
What do I do with the 3 williams tex files?

DonĀ“t have to rename the textures of TNR. Delete the original Williams textures in the wad.

Great it works!!
Thanks a lot for your help!

Now I just have to adjust the helmet and wheel coordinates, do you know where I can find the correct coordinates?
If not I will just play around with it until it looks good.
