CRAZY damage model - driver is on the track

Hey guys,

why have the cars this crazy damage model? After a crash from some cars the drivers falls on the track (see pictures).

I'm happy that there is actual content every year for this old game but is there no quality management today? Is there a possibilty to fix that?

Thank you.

Gilles Villeneuve and some other more fortunate drivers did the same in real life if you remember. It can be a feature, not an issue. Who knows ?

are you kidding? the cars gets an broken frontwing and the driver model is falling out of the cars. That's not normal and seems to be an error on the cars itself.

like Ariel said, maybe you have to assign the driver shape with the cockpit or the engine as one part and after this don't forget to click on sort car objects

Difficult to see what car generates this problem from your shot. Could you precise?
Since age, we (RSCT) are allocating the driver shape at the object "z_cockpit_insert" and it never caused any issue...

Probably the Manor, both cars are in the shot, and I painted the driver suit in white. So it'd be the generic 2018 shape.

I checked the shape and the driver body is well allocated at the object "z_cockpit_insert".... and should be not linked at the front-wing objects...
Does "z_cockpit_insert" in the list of the damage setup? If yes, does its value (sensitvity) has been edited in the Mod? From what I saw, NO!

Just tried to reproduce it, it definitely happens. Got it with the generic 2018, and also on the Toro Rosso. For me in both cases it looked like it was connected to the front wing endplate (though looking at the shape it definitely is in z_cockpit_insert, as Bernard said).

Screenshots don't show that much unfortunately, each time I got close the body disappeared.

Could be a dark side of the setting. "LOD0 only"
In the original game, all "Z-cockpit" objects are not used by LOD1 to 4.( Lods 1, 2 and 3 have only 24 objects when lod0 has 28 objects)

This strange behavior also happens when you have an additional object which should not be. (Eg: 29 objects for lod0)
When you crash this car, the additional object "is always dancing" with the damaged part of the car....

Using only LOD0, If the game should display LOD1 or lower, the additional object is the "z_cockpit_insert", so....
It could also explain why each time you got close, the body disappeared... It's because the game display the LOD0, then all is right...

I don't know if this was addressed to me, but I guess you understand that we can't see from your pictures what exactly happened in race to have this result.

well to throw in my two cents, I only ever had one poly for the z_cockpit_insert item for this reason... you don't notice it when you crash.
