GP4 crashing [error log attached]

So, I get this slightly annoying crash each time I exit the game. Only happens when I actually went on track, if I stay in the menus it closes normally. Guess it's related to one of the files in the mod, since the one I've based it on doesn't give any troubles.

Also noticed extremely long loading times for the second and following times I enter the track, i.e. first session I start loads at normal speed, if I pause and return to cockpit, or start another session it takes ages to load. Not sure if that's also related to the crash.

I'm not René (by far) and I'm probably wrong but I found this in the log :

[09:16:21.332] >>  **WARNING** D3D_DrawLoadProgress() called more than expected :: Increase gsMaxProgress in hw_io.cpp

It could explain the long loading times.

Also found issues while loading cockpit meshes and flags Japan (??), and a bunch of textures with 0x0 in sizes.

I don't know if it makes sense at all, but I hope it can help.

No idea what that line could possible mean.

Some of these 0x0 textures are not in the mod, no clue where those come from. Some exist, but they definitely are not 0x0. No idea about the cockpit mesh and Japan flags.

There's a problem with the cockpit:

Thanks for the info, cockpit doesn't seem to be the cause of it though. I put in the cockpit files of another mod that runs without any problems, but I still got the crash when closing and long loading times.

I have the same problem like you kedy

@René: does the log show anything related to the helmets? I tried removing the files from the mod separately, once I had the helmets out I no longer had the crashs, plus the loading times were back to normal.

Could it be linked at the multi shape setting of the helmets?
Tbh, I didn't know that this feature Was possible, but there are so much things I still don't know.....

Do you mean that I put 4 different shapes in the mod?

Yep....

Only one of them should end up in the wad though, depending on driver selection. Unless I messed up somewhere, better check later.

It's hard to see the root cause for heap corruption, but if it runs fine when you changed the helmets I think you found it.

It appears that having a driver1_2 texture assigned is essential for helmet shapes. I tried renaming on of the other generic textures to driver1_2, that seemed to fix both the loading times and the crashes.
