GP4 is a 16 years old game, the best way to keep the game alive is that these files to be accessible to everyone.
People here who are building tracks, cars, graphics and others files do it for free and spend hours and hours during their free time , just for the passion of the game and they want to share their creations for free. This is the spirit of the GP4 Community.Money involved means troubles and frustration for those who don't have the means to pay for it.
What about the tools developpers? They are the first who should be paid because this is thanks to them that we can create cars, tracks, mods etc... But they spent hours, days weeks, months or years during their free time to to build their tools and to improve it.
You say that pay mods is not piracy and that the artists needs payment for its art? But to whom benefits the money from pay mods? The artists who create the files from A to Z or the mod compiler?
That's why, regarding authors respect and to fight against leeching or files stolen to be sold, that we create permission policy rules that many authors from the community signed:

It doesn't prevent from piracy but at least everyone who is a member from the community should be aware of this. The rules are simple, understandable for everyone, into the respect of the authors. This is just common sense!
We just have to fight against people who sell the files/ mods created for free by their authors. In a society, there is always a minority of bad people who want to cheat with rules and to take advantage of the ignorance and the naivety of some pople to sell something that you can find for free.
Personnaly, I would never sell my creations for a game who brought me so much in terms of fun, possibilities and for sharing our passion all together.
I could sell my original works on Turbosquid CGTrader or whatever but this is not why I am here, not my philosophy and spirit of this game and this is not my job.
To resume:
- GP4 mods or files from tools devs, track builder, car builders or files modders from the GP4 community will always be free.
- Mods compilers are free to use files released in public, from the moment that the original authors from these files are credited
- Pay mods on Ebay or sold in any other way in public( like forced by paypal donations to get the download link) are forbidden.
- I will add that paypal donations are necessary to keep a website alive or just to support the projects of the admins for their website but a donation means that members are free to give money or not but that it can't prevent people to access to the files published for free by their original author.
- All the F1 seasons mods published here, on GP4forever or others well known GP4 website are from high quality and people get support for free.
