Cockpits 2018 + halo

Hello everyone.

I'm working on the 2018 cockpits with halo
All shapes and textures are ready
When I insert the files into wad, the game crashes (gives a log message)
The original cockpit file is car_cockpit_00.gp4
So I created a logical sequence(???) for the shapes in the same way as the carshapes:
car_cockpit_mercedes_00.gp4
car_cockpit_redbull_00.gp4
car_cockpit_ferrari_00.gp4 (etc) and deleted the file car_cockpit_00.gp4
All shapes are there and all their wad files are there
Anyone know if it's possible to create individual cockpits?
I do not know where I'm going wrong.

There can only be one. No team specific cockpit shapes, all share the same one (car_cockpit_00.gp4).

I'll try! good sugestion
I still have to find out which sequence of nomenclature shapes:

car_cockpit_mercedes_00.gp4
car_cockpit_ferrari_00.gp4
car_cockpit_redbul_00.gp4 ...

or

car_cockpit_car0_00.gp4
car_cockpit_car1_00.gp4
car_cockpit_car2_00.gp4 ...

Good job on this but the mid part should be in a blur as the drivers focus is far of in to the corner.
It really only need a flat shape and not a 3d halo with a texture that looks like your 3d halo.

Maybe it should be even more blur on the middle bracket

I wear glasses and I know it well
But here the image is not blurry and the cokpit is in 3D
See image 1 with Kubica, image 2 with F12017 and image 3 with AC
What I did was correct.
If I do not have the sequence of shape names the meshcockpit will have no effect.

Yes a Great Job. (Y)

Unfortunately I am not sure that the GP4 tweaker's option works. If I am right nobody else tried it... and it was more a project (like different helmet shapes or stearing) than an available option. But I could be wrong (I hope)
I am not a tweaker or a CSM specialist but for sure the different names should have to be defined in a .ini file like cars, helmets,etc.... but I can't help you on this side.

We can see on the real cars, that the halo can have different colors. So, if GP4 can't be tweaked to handle individual cockpit shapes,
we could have the solution to map the shape of the halo somewhere in the cockpit textures (cp_xxxx.tex), then it will allow to paint individual colors for each team.

The dark side if this solution is, there are a lot of different generic cockpit shapes used by the community (a matter of taste) and this work will have to be done for each of them...

I plan to do it for K-Sor cockpit shape (the one I use), but obviously it is not your favorite shape... ;-)

I really hope, somebody will be able to provide the good way to implement individual cockpit shape in the game, but I have some doubts....

Hello Bernard

I think meshcockpit is not the way. I have tried without success.
I did just that. I mapped the halo inside cpt_jor_art2.tga. So it was possible to have the colors for each team.
But the halo has a unique color. I chose the predominant color of each car. The result was good.
If there is no other solution, I think this will be appropriate because of the limitations of the game.

Great Job Augusto.
I Like Kimi's version ;)
You could have a bi-color Halo (like Ferrari) or more by mapping different parts of the shape independently.
( For example, external side and internal side). But you need more free space on the texture...

This is what I will try for K-Sor cockpit shape but I am not sure to have a lot of free space available on the current arrangement of the texture.
