Do a rerun, and I suggest that the GPGSL award Paolo a fastest lap point as compensation for the stuff-up.

1) WTF are you altering the perfs for?!?!
2) CGT can get the order, but built-up variation is lost
3) If you rerun it, do it once, and not until you have a desired result...

Purely for some Friday night amusement. Feel bad that Paolo "may" have had to miss out on the pole that he did see he had won....

All too hard right now. Brain can't figure it out right now.

No desired result EVER wanted, or chased (if this was the case i would win every session, and DMR drivers would win each race i RD - yet to happen!). Session has been run, with the goal of wanting to get Paolo back on pole. Which has now been achieved. Perfs now being re-copied to mod, and all should be fine from here.

To me, the damage has been minimised and rectified. I feel comfortable enough now that the race can go ahead - have sought the approval of the fellow board members, but i think the best result has now been met in terms of Qualifying.

Thank you for your effort and amazing work with all your previous RD...

Btw, is Paulo (From Portugal) and not Paolo (From Italy)... :)

Leaving that up to the GP4 gods....

Yes. Coverage is done, commentary done. About to post, given the debacle with the Qualy....

Can a saved file using altered perfs for qualifying still run properly with the correct perfs being used for the race?

I stand to be corrected, but as far as I am aware, it works fine.
Years ago when i was running my own F1 seasons as a single player, i had perfs for qual and then for race - i would run each session with the different perfs, and was fine? From memory? Been many years since i did that - so, i may be wrong?

Welcome all to the simply awesome, unreal and just downright brilliant, Classic Layout at Hockenheimring.
Whilst GPGSL officials clear up the debacle of a bungled main race lap number debacle, the Free Practise session has been run.
Drivers were given 40 minutes out on track, to show their stuff.

A look at the weather forecast, and it should be all clear

Nata Cremasco is first to set a timed lap....

Maikel De Boer goes 2nd...

Nico Beggani jumps to 1st with a solid lap....

James Peters 3rd....

Greg O'Brien goes to the top, by quite a margin. These strongly boosted Tyrant's are going to be tough to beat at Hockenheimring....

Mal Stoddart in 5th in the SCR....

John Maverick goes up to 2nd....

AMR boss Stu Ingers goes 8th...

Jack Elleker jumps ahead of team boss, to take 8th....

DMR boss Glen Sheppard goes to 3rd fastest....

Fellow DMR driver Charrel Jalving slots into 5th fastest....

Alpha team owner Ed Greenhalgh puts up the 3rd quickest lap....

Snakes' Aidan Keranen manages 9th fastest...

Test Driver championship leader Eric Moinet goes 7th....

Gianluigi Silvestre clocks in 14th....

Joseph Gilson mid pack, in 11th....

Karda goes to 3rd in the Alpha....

Soutsen in 16th in the Christel...

Matteo Scala in 4th for MTP....

Majumdar in the Tyrant goes 7th....

Nathan McGregor sits 11th on the time sheets...

Christel VXR boss Chris Copeman in 19th...

All drivers now with a lap on the board....

Beggani moves to 2nd after his second lap on track, whilst James Peters has also improved his time....

John Maverick up to 8th after his second lap...

SCR boss Mal Stoddart improves as well, up to 12th...

Then it is the two AMR's making a bit of time. Firstly Ingers....

Then Elleker in the other AMR....

Ed Greenhalgh turns the clock back to his best form, going to the top of the table....

Silvestre improves his earlier laptime...

Gilson in 14th....

Majumdar slices some time off his previous best, to move up a spot...

Copeman also takes a small bit of time off his earlier lap....

Cremasco goes faster than earlier, but stays 13th....

De Boer has run wide at Turn 1....

A cloud of dust and dirt, but no damage....

Elleker makes up a bit of ground on his previous best time, but is still down the order, sitting in 18th....

Wow! O'Brien has the Tyrant running at full steam, setting a new benchmark time....

Elleker in the AMR over a second off the pace, down in 15th....

Gilson also over a second off the pace at this point, in 13th....

Moinet moves up to 8th overall...

Gilson finding his mojo perhaps, into 11th now...

Cremasco just doesn't want to move out of 13th, again improving but remaining in 13th....

Moinet takes a little bit of time out of his best, staying in 8th....

Sheppard climbs a few spots, moving to 4th overall...

Elleker putting a string of good laps together, improving each time....

Soutsen improves, and matches his team mates lap time. But the two Christels are at the bottom of the timesheets...

The boosted Tyrant of Majumdar takes a slither of time off his best, and stays in 7th....

Cremasco makes that move out of 13th, up a spot to 12th fastest...

A lap later, Cremasco jumps up to 10th...

De Boer in 16th....

Improvements for Elleker, now 11th fastest as the session winds down - he will get one more lap...

Gilson moves up to 11th, crossing the line 13 seconds before the end of the session - he too will have the chance for 1 more lap....

And it is up to 9th for Gilson with that last lap...

Peters improves as well as he crosses the line, going to 17th...

Elleker cruising back to pit lane as the session winds down....

And the session is officially done. All drivers back in pitlane, after a good hit out on track. Full Results on screen below

Well done to Greg O'Brien and the Tyrant Motorsports team for claiming the fastest lap time in the session. The boosted Tyrant package will be a force to be reckoned with on the long straights here at Hockenheim. Can ANYONE beat them here this weekend. We shall find out....

Good run from Ed getting into first for a short time and finishing in 2nd place and Dom finishing in 5th.
Hopefully Toby and me can similar if not better finishes.

Fantastic result for me in the testers free practice. That gives the team a lot of confidence heading into the re-run qualifying session knowing just how fast the cars can be, which should be interesting to see.

And I felt bad for the pole setter/race winner last season Barcelona when I had to rerun, but that's not how this works.

Exactly. This is why Glen has been asked to re-run the full session with normal perfs (bar a veto from the majority of board members, which I doubt that it will happen).

We apologize to Paulo for the situation and compensate him with an extra point. Additionally, we also apologize to everybody else who might snatch a worse starting position in the re-run. Mistakes can happen and we need to keep things as fair as possible to everybody in such a situation. And beware that a worse starting position is not necessarily a disadvantage, since we'll never know what would have happened in the other race.

Nice result for Ed and myself. Hopefully our main team will keep us in front!

Well done Nico with 3rd. For me, a bit down the ranking but it was expected.

Well that didn't happened before. Hopefully my prays are for good result in qualifying, not to expect yet another multi-unlucky. Let's hope.
Good show of speed from the DMR i had the pleasure of sitting in, whilst Charrel did some great work for the team, running in race trim. Hopeful for qualifying and the race to come....

Welcome back all to the Hockenheimring in Germany, for the quickfire coverage of Qualifying session, 2.0 from trackside.
After the mishap with the previous qualifying coverage being posted, but dis-continued due to incorrect race distance set by the RD, we are now ready to go.

Lets take a condensed view of today's Qualifying session....

Tobias Kederer sets the home country fans into a minor frenzy, going fastest in the first group of cars on track...

Marcus De Bruyker is 2nd fastest after the second wave of cars wrap up their first run on track....

De Bruyker back on track for his final run, as all cars in the first group have finished their run...

De Bruyker can't surpass his earlier time, staying in 2nd spot...

A summary of the positions as De Bruyker heads back to pit lane....

So there we have it. The official starting grid for the German GP is now set. Congratulations to Alpha Motorsports and Tobias Kederer for taking pole position in Germany. Marcus De Bruyker starts on the front row with Kederer.

Join us for the race coverage "soon".....
