Gonna have to do some enquries with the brake supplier for DMR - McCarthy speared off in the Feature Race, and now Jalving in the main event. Something aint right! The debriefs will be invaluable....

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
South African GP, live from Kyalami, Part 2....

We rejoin the action, with what appears to be a slow moving Luke Russell...

Speed is way off the pace...

Cars are overtaking Russell in his clearly wounded machinery. But, why is the track map showing yellow flags ahead...hmmm.....

Russell eventually comes to a stop, with transmission failure...

The RD had to go to the replays to find why the yellow flags are out, and caught the beginning of the troubles....
Smoke coming out of the MAC of Pedersen....

Steer draws alongside to overtake...

Pedersen probably couldnt see Steer in his mirrors, and they touch wheels, sending Steer into the air...

Pedersen is off track, Steer is off the ground, and heading for major trouble...

Steer flies past the camera towers.....

Steer hits the ground, front wing breaks off, front right wheel assembly ripped off. Pedersen appears to be out of control still with tyre smoke flying....

Poor old Connor Steer will need a chiropractor to put his head back on the shoulders after this big impact...

Sean O'Neill looks to be a passenger at this point, with way too much speed to avoid debris ahead of him....

The front wing of Steers car lays dead ahead of the Alpha driver....

Yep, unavoidable.... new front wing required for the Alpha driver....

Steers wreck sits on one side of the road, whilst Pedersen can be seen, at the right side of the screen....

Pedersen has taken a wild ride, done some serious damage to his car....

The arrival of a marshal signals the end of the day for the MAC driver...

Steer sits in his wrecked chassis, race over....

Rodrigo Vilela who was not far behind the Steer/Pedersen incident, caught this view of Steer trying to fly....

While all that action was going on, Luke Russell was being greeted by a marshal, whilse every camera man was snapping away at the action around the bend....

Confirmation now on screen of the issue Pedersen had....

O'Neill pits, but knowing the brains of GP4 mechanics, they wont have fuelled him to the end. THis will inevitably mean another late pit stop for the Alpha driver, totally killing

his day....

With the flurry of carnage going on, De Bruyker still leads, with a 2.5 second gap. Silva is in the pit lane...

Vilela now up to 3rd, with the demise of Steer and Pedersen, and Silva having just pitted....

Kederer up to 5th, having climbed 9 positions so far...

Snake's Ruben Greidanus in 6th, with Gilson close behind. McClure and Warrington in tow...

The 2.5 second gap has been shrunk, as race leader De Bruyker lost a second getting past Matteo Scala as he got lapped...

It's a case of what could have been today for Scala, after his earlier off track adventure....

Sean O'Neill may be out of contention for a great finish, but with new tyres on, he has speed. Fastest lap so far...

The two front runners both pit at the same time....

The Tyrant pit crew have De Bruyker rolling out....

De Bruyker luckily emerges from pit lane ahead of the AMR of Jack Elleker, whilst a similar story in the background for Silvestre, just ahead of Hinz on the other AMR...

It appears clearly evident, the new rubber on the Tyrant and MAC, is allowing them to pull away from the AMR's....

Positions 9-16, as pit stops are underway through out the field...

Positions 17-22, as Jack Elleker plows on...

Our cameras swing to pick up what appears to be a slowing Dan Mills....

Yep, off track goes the M.M.Motorsport driver, to cap a horrible day for his team...

Day over for the Brit, with broken suspension...

2nd place on the road now for Kederer, ahead of his stop....

1st place for Vilela, as he heads uphill to the slow right hander...

A sight that will make Kederer happy, 1st position....

Daly McClure currently in 3rd, yet to stop...

De Bruyker on fresh rubber, in 4th, and McClure ahead....

Worseling pits...

Elleker pits...

Greidanus heading back out from pit lane...

De Bruyker making it look all to easy, loitering behind McClure - only a matter of time before McClure loses that position....

Hinz heading off track! Trouble for the AMR driver. Handfuls of opposite lock as he has run wide...

No damage, but lost track position. THat will really hurt his result...

Hinz recovering, as Worseling tears past....

Dead last for the AMR driver now...

Kederer relinquishes the lead as he pits. The timing screens show Silvestre is right with De Bruyker...

And now the live camera shots show this! Silvestre alongside the Tyrant on the run down the hill...

Foot to the floor for the MAC driver...

And we have a new leader, completing the pass before the turn...

Replays showed De Bruyker getting slowed up by McClure through the Kink, and McClure peeling off to pit lane...

The Tyrant driver is all over the back of Silvestre, wanting that 1st place back...

De Bruyker stalks Silvestre....

Silvestre has a real struggle on his hands, to keep the Tyrant at bay...

Lap 26, Silvestre narrowly leads De Bruyker...

A bit of defensive driving, showing signs of the inevitable not too far away...

Silvestre's lead over De Bruyker, is minimal....

Side by side down the straight the two leaders go....

De Bruyker nails the move this time...

O'Neill runs in 5th, on lap 28....

4.6 seconds up the road from the Irishman, is Vilela in the Demon Racing entry...

O'Neill and Keranen side by side down the hill...

O'Neill and Keranen swap positions....

The running order, with 12 laps remaining. Positions 1-8...

Positions 9-16....

Soutsen's wretched day continues, as a multitude of errors pop up on his dash. A trip to pit lane for the Christel driver....

And with this change of lead completed, we take our final break, ahead of the run to the finish line of the South African GP...
Can anyone challenge De Bruyker?
Will there be any more carnage?
Is there a sting in the tail of this race, for a final bit of drama? Who knows.... Keep tuned in to find out when we return.....

Which off-track adventure for Matteo (and probably Michael)? This has never been shown in the coverage, but it's probably the reason why they suddenly dropped down the field.

What a mess for the team!

Oh you gotta be kidding me!!!

Fastest lap. Wow! Didn't expect that after my unscheduled Pitstop. Couldn't avoid the debris from that incident. Lucky it wasn't worse. Moved up the field from 16 to 5th. Aiming for a podium finish hopefully.

It’s not clear, yet it looks like we wasted a good chance :-(

My GPGSL Career
Oh come on! I don’t mean to sound critical but Michael disappeared completely from the coverage with no explanation of what happened. He disappeared during the first part completely and then only popped up in the second part to show that a weird glitch had hit his car. Can I ask what happened?

GPGSL - Christel VXR team Boss S6-S8, S12 Onwards

A couple of things from the coverage of this race, as my role as RD :

- Soutsen 'vanishing' from a strong position, to the lower end of the field - not sure. Will have to reload the saved game, and take a look as to what may have happened. Will confirm as best i can.
- Scala - maybe i got mixed up with his off track in the Feature Race? Again, will check....

Hoping to have the final part posted tonight..

And, as many are aware, we absolutely have a shortage of RD's - seems it is only myself or Greg. Others are more than welcome to step in and have a go.... just saying.

So far, so good... let's keep our head cool till the end of the race ;-)

Sublime coverage so far (Y)

Looking smooth in 11th, just need more catching up to do. Prays and hopes in the air for finishing the race. :)
god damn it.

Not what the team or i needed! But lets hope Silvestre keeps it together and fights of any mechanical issues!

And my appologies to Steer, hope he is allright after that flight.
We welcome you all back to Kyalami for the final time, to see out the remainder of this 40 lap race.....

De Bruyker back in the lead...

Silvestre now in 2nd again after not being able to hold off the Tyrant....

Silva in 3rd place...

Vilela in 4th...

O'Neill currently in 5th, although we suspect he will have to make a splash and dash for fuel...

Keranen in 5th...

Gilson in 6th...

Kederer in 7th...

Greidanus in 8th...

Warrington in 10th...

McClure in 11th...

Elleker in 12th....

Worseling in 13th...

Scala in 14th....

Jalving in 15th....

Hinz in 16th....

Soutsen in 17th, and last...

We have a smoking Snake going along the front straight. It is Greidanus...

It will soon be day over for the Dutchman....

And in a puff of smoke, and parked up behind the already retired M.M. M

Sean O'Neill, victim of circumstance earlier when debris was in his path, has been let down by the GP4 gods, and has to make a 2nd stop for fuel....

He emerges just ahead of Jalving....

Meanwhile, race leader De Bruyker leads silvestre, by just under 2 seconds...

Jalving is hot on the heels of O'Neill, as we notice yellow flags are out again - the RD doesnt quite spot what that incident was.......

At the opposite end of the course, another yellow flag, and the Alpha of Kederer limping along off line. Race leader, 2nd place and the lapped care of SOutsen head on past Kederer...

But he then gets back on the racing line...

Tobias barely has any momentum....

Silvestre in 2nd, with De Brukyer ahead, are approaching the ailing Alpha which is near The Kink....O'Neill slams in a fasters lap...

A jumble of messages on Kederers dash give no sure clue to what is going on....

De Bruyker isn't sure what the Alpha is doing on the racing line, and slows a little, allowing Silvestre to close...

De Bruyker has to take evasive action as the Alpha trundles along on the racing line, with the Tyrant losing a LOT of momentum...

More traffic on the approach to the Kink, having to take quick action to avoid the Alpha...

And the action at the front has suddenly HEATED UP. De Bruyker lost his near 2 second lead, with Silvestre now right up behind the Tyurant. But so is the Christel of Soutsen, to throw a cat amongst the pigeons. Just a handful of laps, blue flags will surely be out to tell Soutsent to keep out of the way....

The gap for the lead has closed right up after De Bruyker cautiously got by Kederer

And the scramble into Turn 1 sees Soutsen getting right involved in something he probably shouldnt be... The two race leaders, and a backmarker!

Silvestre will be FUMING. Soutsen overtook him at Turn 1, and the Christel is now hounding the race leader...

15th place Soutsen trying to unlap himself from the race leader - not ideal stuff so late in the race!....

Confirmation of Kederer's retirement, as the two leaders battle for the lead, whilst Soutsen complicates things....

Scala in 12th, with Jalving not too far behind. The Alpha finally been taken off the circuit as they approach....

Soutsen meanwhile, is driving for his life, trying to unlap himself...

Silvestre will see this as an opportunity to steal a win...

But finally, Soutsen drops off the attack, and falls in behind Silvestre - sanity may have prevailed, and/or he was directed to let the leaders race...

All setup now for a clean fight to the end....

A lead of just 0.277 seconds after 38 laps....

Our final run through the standings, with positions 1-8...

Positions 9-16...

And the tail end of the field....

Silva in 3rd has had a nice, out of the limelight drive. A podium will be a great result...

Same story for Vilela, kept out of trouble, and in position to capitalise if the opportunity presents itself ahead...

That final points paying position of 12th, is up for grabs between Scala and Jalving...

The run through The Kink, and Soutsen is tucked up behind Silvestre...

And the 15th place driver, again overtakes the 2nd place driver. On the final lap....

De Bruyker surely has this race in his hands to win now, with only a disaster to stop him....

Jalving is alongside Scala...

And they still run side by side on the way down the hill towards the first turn....

ANd Jalving gets past Scala, to take 12th....

Last lap, last turn. Marcus De Bruyker has this....

And it is official. Marcus De Bruyker wins in South Africa...

Gianluigi Silvestre 2nd....

Paolo Silva in 3rd...

Rodrigo Vilela in 4th....

Aiden Keranen in 5th...

Joseph Gilson in 6th....

John Warrington home in 7th...

Jack Elleker finishes 8th...

Daly McClure 9th....

Nick Worseling in 10th...

Sean O'Neill in 11th....

Charrel Jalving in 12th...

Matteo Scala finishes 13th...

Christopher Hinz in 14th...

And no photo of the most famous 15th place finisher of GPGSL history - we saw enough of Mr Soutsen! LOL! ;)

Congratulations to Marcus De Bruyker, with a fantastic pole position, and the win to follow that up.

So, we wrap up our coverage from Kyalami, South Africa. GPGSL wishes everyone a safe journey home for Christmas, and see you all back in Europe for the continuation of the season...
