MTP's John Maverick sits on pole, clear track ahead of him, as all 5 lights glow....
And they are GO..... Maverick leads, Greenhalgh 2nd, with Jalving and Moinet side by side...
All cars safely having navigated the first set of turns....
The front of the field quite stretched out as they head towards the end of lap 1....
Stoddart engaged in a close fight for positions in the points....
The MTP of John Maverick leads after lap 1, with the top 4 all within close range of each other...
Meanwhile towards the rear of the pack, Chris Copeman has cars galore ahead of him...
Jalving has a run on Moinet ahead of him, as they head down the back straight...
Gilson has a good view of the overtake attempt ahead of him, as both Jalving and Moinet are well to the left on the road....
Jalving got by Moinet, to move into 3rd position...
The top 10 all on the front straight, as race leader Maverick sets out on Lap 3....
The top 8 positions on Lap 3....
Positions 9-16....
And 17-22nd....
Mal Stoddart the meat in a MAC Racing sandwich....
Cremasco, Soutsen and Elleker 3 wide down the back straight towards the tight set of final turns....
Cremasco lost out in that one, as the pack forms behind him....
Chaos at the first turn, as both Tyrants are involved, Scala spins and Ingers tangle in seperate incidents....
A quick replay showed Scala out of control, and further back Majumadar too deep under brakes...
Majumadar and Scala had to let the entire field pass before both recovering....
Smoke billows from the back of the Alpha of Ed Greenhalgh....
Um, er.... pullover - FIRE!!!!! Stop the car, stop the car....
Still smoking away, burning the engine to a charred pile of metal...
And finally off track, after a spectacular exit...

Newly appointed team boss at Snake Motorsports, Aiden Keranen sits in 12th on the road....
Jalving kicks off the pit stops at the end of Lap 7...
Soutsen is one the many pitting on this lap, with Elleker just ahead in pit lane...
Jalving re-emerges in 14th after his stop....
Race leader in pit lane....
Gilson in for service as well, with the DMR of Sheppard coming into the lane as well....
Pit lane is a hive of activity as teams swing into action....
Pedersen in the MAC lost ground on Sheppard, and now has Beggani ahead of him, who is yet to pit...
Pedersen can see Sheppard way ahead, two cars ahead on the road....
TDC leader Eric Moinet sits in first currently, ahead of making his pit stop...
The top 3 all in pit lane, as the Tyrant of O'Brien also will be heading to pit lane.Maverick sits close behind in 5th, ready to reclaim the race lead....

Cremasco has a good run down the straight and appears ready to attack Elleker....
The MMM boss right up under the AMR's rear wing....
But, as we seem to be seeing a lot of, a cloud of brake dust from a lockup...
Cremasco spins, as Elleker continues....
Cremasco facing the wrong way, with a bunch of cars heading his way, drops him to the rear...

Soutsen has a hot battle around him....
Majumadar once again lets ambition get in the way of talent, with another spin....
DMR's Charrel Jalving sits in 2nd place, with race leader Maverick a distant speck ahead, 3.5 seconds ahead....
The points leader has now lost control, brakes locked up....
Pedersen was involved with Moinet in that incident, and rejoins the track. Moinet can be seen in the background, getting lucky and able to recover straight away...
The top 8 after 13 of 18 laps....
Eric Moinet, after his earlier hiccup, runs in 8th spot....
Positions 9-16 with just a few laps remaining....
And the tail end of the field....
Joseph Gilson in 3rd, with a nice buffer behind him to 4th...
Sheppard in 4th....
But this race has all been about the MTP driver John Maverick, leading all the way other than during pit stops...
Charrel Jalving in the DMR sits in 2nd - surprised that DMR haven't stripped the name off Charrel's car to slap Jalving on there for him... lol

2 laps to go for Maverick, as we again see the movers and shakers of the Top 10....
Nathan McGregor still on the hunt to chase down Sheppard for 4th spot, as the DMR driver rounds the turn ahead....
And in the other MAC, it is Pedersen in 6th place....
O'Brien pushing hard to try and snatch that final point off Soutsen as the laps wind down....
Race leader comfortably in front, with 2nd place coming over the crest of hill in the background. Only disaster can take this win off Maverick....
Things getting busy with O'Brien's quest for 12th....
Soutsen goes defensive, whilst ahead, it is Ingers and Keranen in a similar battle...
O'Brien moves to the middle, looking to dive down the inside....
The Tyrant driver locks up the brakes....
And it is O'Brien who spins, Soutsen holds onto 12th...
But in a flawless display, it is John Maverick taking the win in todays Feature Race....

Quite happy with the results for DMR this time out. Good show of pace, after the debacle of last round at Spa.....
**RD note - i found the amount of spins and brake lock ups at this track to be almost on the unacceptable side. Only a few incidents, but.... Will be curious to see how the main race runs. I ran AI errors at 5, after numerous tests of settings, and 5 was about as tolerable as things could get. I would almost say we ban this track for next season, depending how the main race goes.....

Not a good race for Mistral. For some reason I can't take advantage of the feature race this season, always something going wrong.

As far as the serious analysis of this race goes ...
YES! YES! Nanananana nananana, YES! *clear throat*
I'm glad that I could prove myself that I still have it. After the mostly desastrous FP sessions in this season, this win (and its fashion) really pamper my consciousness.
And it's also (hopefully) a good sign for the main race that we can keep up with the double-boosted cars. Matteo made a mistake in the feature race, but I'm sure he'll be on his best in the main race. And from Carlos, I'm really expecting a fight for the win with his driver boost.
As for the track, I'm nonetheless tempted to agree with Glen, depending on how the main race goes. With AI mistakes already reduced to 5, there were too many accidents.

With all the drama, Hinz has moved up to the points, probably rather unexpected

Gilson goes past Silva for 7th
Greidanus currently in 10th place
de Bruyker goes past Scala for 17th

It seems there was contact between him and Russell
O'Neill overtakes Warrington for 4th place

Despite the slight lack of pace after the stops, McClure still the man with most places gained
3 to go for McCarthy
Seems it was just a slight mistake earlier, as Rodríguez is over 3s ahead of Kederer now
Jalving still one of the fastest cars on track, now looking to at least salvage some points
Gilson with the move for 6th
McClure stays alongside
Has the inside for turn 12
And keeps his position
Jalving got past Greidanus to 10th
Gilson tries again, this time he gets it done
Hinz versus Greidanus for 11th
McCarthy starts the final lap of the race
de Bruyker goes past Pedersen
Vilela sticks to the back of the Tyrant and slips through as well
Contact between Greidanus and Hinz under braking for turn 1

And Hinz has spun
Incredibly upsetting for Greidanus, shoved out of the points in the final lap
Hinz too loses out
McCarthy crosses the line, taking his maiden win!
2nd place for Rodríguez
Kederer completes the podium in 3rd
Silva took 7th from his teammate on the final meters
Elleker too with a position gained, past Worseling to 11th
Congratulations to Gareth McCarthy on his first career win! The third one for MAC Racing this season, a new record for them, and the most of any team so far this year.

I ran it with the 40 I originally put, imo not considerably more incidents than on many other tracks. You could say the same about Melbourne, Boromo, Kyalami, Österreichring etc., just to name a few. If you dropped a track each time I ranted about one, we'd be out of tracks by now.

I ran it with the 40 I originally put, imo not considerably more incidents than on many other tracks. You could say the same about Melbourne, Boromo, Kyalami, Österreichring etc., just to name a few. If you dropped a track each time I ranted about one, we'd be out of tracks by now.

I am usually ok with racing incidents occuring, with genuine mishaps occuring. That is real life too! But i do have a bit of a concern when the racing incidents are clearly sparked by something in the track of the CC' line, or something that is probably fixable. I am a fan of the layout, and it did produce good racing, but kind of spoilt by clumsy AI behaviour..... No track is perfect, this one probably just needs a bit of a fix to be 90% tolerable.

Pretty poor qualifying from me on both occasions, made up for it a bit with overtakes in the tester race but got saved by other people's mistakes in the main event, not my greatest race weekend at all

Charrel got robbed of the chance to take a much needed and well deserved win at Istanbul Park today! Had the pace, had the speed, and had the package to bring home the win. But, the racing gods were not on his side today.....
As for Rodrigo, starting dead last was never going to be too conducive to a good result. We as a team need to get Rodrigo's spirits lifted, and him qualifying better....
On to Monza we go.....
