The two DMR life boats of Sheppard and Jalving just didn't have the pace in that soaking wet session. Fingers crossed the weather is a bit more driver friendly for qualm and more importantly, the race.

Good morning people.

I was missing because, due to Carnival, I was following all the parades of the samba schools. And I did the coverage in real time for the webradio that I am part of. That is, I will go four dawn in reporting everything.

Now, I'm back!

Good job from Nico. Not only his lap time is good enough to make him climb one more step in the testers' rankings but he also impeded Greenhalgh's result in the same rankings by finishing ahead of him (by one point though, it won't help me a lot TBH)

Agree! Usually I love some rain in the belgiam hills, but this was horrible. Time to get our setup to work for us.

Officially throwing my hand up as RD for next round.
Qualifying in a quick fire coverage followed by a Feature Race for test drivers.
Qual for main game drivers, via very condensed coverage, then Race coverage.

GPGSL Rd 10 Belgian GP – Qualifying

Hello and welcome to Spa Francorchamps as we get set for qualifying. The rain played its part in the free practice session for the testers and it looks like it may do the same for the race drivers. The cars can be heard starting up so it’s time to head trackside.

Weather Report

Keranen is the first driver out for Group 1.

He sets the first time of the session.

O’Neill goes slightly quicker and takes provisional pole.

McCarthy sets the first 2min06 of the session to go fastest.

Mills puts in a good time and slots into 2nd.

Pedersen goes quicker than his teammate.

Hinz is half a second off the fastest time.

Russell in the Christel goes into 3rd.

Steer can’t quite match his teammates time.

It’s not a good start to the session for Demon with Vilela taking 7th.

Silva manages to go a bit faster.

Scala now has the slowest time of the session so far.

That’s McCarthy in the wall with damage and a blown engine.

Gilson is the first one out for Group 2.

He puts in a fantastic lap to take provisional pole. Perhaps this means the rain has eased up.

Jalving manages to go faster.

Not long after the time is lowered again, this time by Elleker.

Greidanus goes 4th fastest.

Worseling demotes him down to 5th by going faster.

Kederer’s time is good enough to put him into 2nd.

Championship leader and home favourite De Bruyker goes 3rd fastest.

Warrington manages to go faster and takes 2nd.

Rodriguez now has the slowest time of Group 2.

A brilliant lap from Soutsen sees the Christel driver take provisional pole.

McClure slots into 4th.

Russell is first out for Group 1 this time.

McCarthy is back in the pits ready to take part in his second run.

Russell comes across the line, and it looks like it could be session over for the rest of the drivers based on how much time is lost to the fastest time.

Or maybe not. Steer manages to set a fantastic time to take provisional pole.

O’Neill improves to 3rd.

Hinz goes fastest and is the first driver to go into 2min04s.

Pedersen however blitz the time and goes fastest.

Mills can’t match the pace of his teammate and can only manage to improve up to 6th.

McCarthy improves to 11th, and Silva improves to 13th.

Keranen improves, but his time is way off the pace.

Vilela can only manage to improve by one position.

Scala improves slightly better.

Gilson comes out first for Group 2 in the final runs.

However, the rain has gotten a lot worse and the times have dropped off completely.

The session comes to an end without any improvements being made from the remaining drivers.

Congratulations Michael Pedersen and MAC Racing, our pole sitter for Rd 10.

Looks like we were on the wrong side of the weather coin this time around. Hopefully both drivers can work their way up the field in the race and bring home a good haul of points for the team.

Aaahh, the pole was not that far away from me but being the 4th on the grid is still fine. Big hopes for the race for sure.
