GPGSL S12 R14 Flevoland GP - Rubendrome, Emmeloord [Testers Q&R p.122 | Quali p.123 Race p.124!!!]

Posted by GPGSL
Welcome to the running of the GPGSL Season 12, German GP.

The weather today looks perfect, with clear sky and dry track awaiting our drivers...

Without any hesitation, lets get this GP underway. Some how, i think we can expect a great race today....

Tobias Kederer sits on the pole for his home GP....

Lights out, and the short run to the Nordkurve....

McClure has tucked in behind Kederer as they head into the first corner...

Kederer leads, McClure has shot into 2nd after a great start, and De Bruyker down to 3rd...

At the rear of the field, it appears all have navigated the first turn with no incident...

McClure has a run on Kederer as they charge towards the Bremskurve 1 for the first time...

Worseling also has pulled alongside De Bruyker on the run down the long straight...

First time into the chicane, and McClure is ahead of Kederer, and Worseling appears to have the pass on De Bruyker done...

The run down to the Ostkurve, and Worseling is taking a look down the inside of Kederer...

Kederer moves over into Worseling's path....

Wheels touch, sending Worseling airborne....

Worseling has all 4 wheels back on the ground, but steering lock full right....

Worseling is all locked up....

Kederer now gets contact from the out of control SCR of Worseling....

BIG INCIDENT as Kederer flips, Worseling slides off the track just behind him...

The Alpha of Kederer barrel rolls in the gravel...

De Bruyker in 4th place sees all the action unfold ahead of him...

The series points leader runs wide trying to keep clear of the carnage ahead...

The points leader has spun himself around!

On the grass is De Bruyker. Worseling in the gravel in the background, and Kederer on his lid in the gravel! Carnage on lap 1....

De Bruyker ends up facing backwards on the exit of the Ostkurve, with the entire field streaming past him...

Worseling back on track and rolling...

Kederer stuck in the gravel, resting on his helmet. Day done most likely...

Poor Michael Soutsen got himself tangled up in the De Bruyker spin, and has been delayed...

Miraculous recovery for Kederer, with the German safety teams getting him rolled back over onto all 4 wheels which incredibly stayed on. Front wibng missing though...

While all that mayhem unfolded, Daly McClure leads the field after Lap 1....

Carlos Rodriguez dodged the chaos, and is in 2nd - the Alpha pitcrew can be seen in pitlane ready to receive Kederer....

Paulo Silva up into 3rd...

Sean O'Neill in the Alpha sits in 4th, with the DMR pair of Jalving in 5th and Vilela in 6th...

Joseph Gilson in 7th after the first lap mayhem....

As the field enters lap 2, we see the top 8 positions shown on the graphics...

The positions 9-16...

And 17th through to 22nd place Kederer, who is pitting....

Vilela moves ahead of team mate Jalving on the entry to the Bremskurve 2 chicane....

Kederer back in action after his repairs to a front wing. He will surely be one angry driver....

2 laps done, Rodriguez puts in a quick lap...

Connor Steer tests the race officials patience, with an early run wide to exceed track limits...

A bit of speed washes off the MMM Motorsport driver after running wide, dropping Steer down the order 2 spots...

McClure has pulled out a very nice gap to Rodriguez....

John Warrington in 7th, with a train of midfield chasers behind him. Warrington has jumped ahead of Gilson...

Another German in this race, Christopher Hinz sees himself in 12th early in proceedings....

McClure leads....

Positions 9-16 on lap 4...

And positions 17-22....

Hinz and McCarthy both lock up as they brake for Ostkurve....

They both survive, and live to fight another day....

McClure in the Stadium section, with Tobias Kederer in last place, having just set the fastest lap of the race...

Starting the 5th lap now, and McClure has a bit of breathing space back to Rodriguez...

McCarthy in the MAC, is hot on the tail of Matteo Scala....

De Bruyker has caught the rear of the pack, and will be looking to make his way through the field as best he can today...

Vilela is making ground on O'Neill ahead of him...

Rodriguez has taken 0.2 out of McClure's lead this lap so far...

Trouble for Scala! He is off track, heading straight for the barriers...

He slams the barriers, front left wheel flying off....

That is the day done for Matteo Scala. An early retirement, but a short walk to the garage....

Meanwhile, up ahead Rodrigo Vilela has got past Sean O'Neill....

O'Neill isn't going to roll over easily though, right in the slipstream of the DMR ahead of him....

Vilela puts himself in the defensive line, with O'Neill surely too far back to make this move work...

O'Neill has got himself in deep under brakes, edging ahead of the Brazilian...

But they make contact!...

Debris! Vilela landed heavily, smashing off his front wing, and losing the front right wheel assembly - his day is done!

Vilela rolls to a halt on the inside of the circuit....

O'Neill is back running, but lost a lot of time, and will surely face a stewards inquiry into this crazy divebomb overtake attempt (RD's bias perhaps showing through there!!! :) )

Onboard footage from Vilela showed that O'Neill was nowhere near being in front on the approach to the turn, just metres ahead....

Running out of talent, and a brake pedal not long enough, O'Neill slammed into Vilela.... (again, slight bias from the RD there....)

Back out front, McClure still leads, but the gap to Rodriguez in 2nd, is shrinking....

After some craziness on track, an update on the standings - positions 9-16 on screen...

And 17-22nd....

And from here, we take our one and only commercial break, to let everyone digest what has happened in an action packed first half of the race.... Back soon!

Don't think there was anything else De Bruyker could've done to avoid the incident.

Keep going Dan, Connor can still score points

Going for the 'Felipe Massa 2014' approach to the first lap of a race at the Hockenheim

Luckely I'm staying out of trouble so far. Not the best pace, so we decided to let my teammate fight for P4.

GPGSL Round 9, Hockenheim.... part TWO.....

Welcome back all, after several hours of commericals to top up the bank balances of the GPGSL....

We rejoin the action, with current race leader Charrel Jalving pitting...

Gilson also in the pits...

Gilson beats Jalving out of the pits after Jalving was delayed by the incoming MMM Ferrari....

Jalving will be peeved losing that spot, and now has to contend with the lapped car of Kederer....

Kederer runs in 19th spot...

Kederer is right in the way of the DMR driver....

Jalving is forced to follow behind Kederer as they exit the Ostkurve...

Soutsen is closing in on Jalving, as Kederer moves aside to let Jalving through, having no doubt seen the blue flags telling Kederer to step aside....

Jalving now clearly past Kederer, clear to power on....

Michael Soutsen in 7th, with the lapped Alpha between him and Jalving...

Mills in 8th, chased by Hinz, and Russell in the Christel VXR behind....

Elleker clings onto the final point in 12th spot, with Warrington close behind...

Silva holds a slender lead over Rodriguez, as De Bruyker and WOrseling make their mandatory stops...

Silva has the MTP not too far behind him, putting the pressure on....

With pitstops now completed, the running order follows...
Positions 1-8....

Positions 9-16....

And the rear of the field....

Silva has clear road ahead of him. He will be loving this....

Gilson has a large gap ahead to 2nd place. 3rd may be the best on offer today....

The long shot from the chicane and it is long way back from the top two, to Gilson and Jalving who is just appearing from around the corner...

Hinz carries the hopes for the German crowd....

Russell in the Christel still going strong today, tucked in behind Hinz....

DMR's loanee to MAC Racing, Gareth McCarthy is once again showing his talent, hanging in ther in 8th spot....

Jack Elleker sits in 9th....

Warrington in 10th for Tyrant Motorsports....

A gap back to Greidanus in the Snake....

And rounding out the current points earners, Nick Worseling in 12th....

Connor Steer just outside the points in 13th....

De Bruyker in 14th....

Keranen in 15th...

O'Neil in 16th...

Last rounds race winner Pedersen way down in 17th....

Soutsen in 18th....

But out front, it is Paulo Silva, who is ever so slightly increasing his lead over Carlos Rodriguez....

De Bruyker looks to the inside of Steer....

And the Belgian moves into 13th....

Another lap in the books, and that lead gets extended by another small amount....

Trouble for Elleker, who appears to be running wide at the final turn....

He is in the gravel....

Too much speed, and the AMR driver ends up sideways....

The slide stops. Elleker facing the wrong way...

And a points finish thrown down the drain....

A costly mistake sees Elleker now down in 16th...

Silva about to clock another lap in the race....

Rodriguez not giving up though, pushing the whole way...

The top 4 now clearly visible together on the back straight...

Positions 7 through to 11 on the front straight....

Championship leader De Bruyker now holding onto 1 point if he can stay 12th...

Positions 1-8, with just over 4 laps remaining....

Positions 9-16....

Positions 17-22....

De Bruyker appears to have shaken off any threat from behind...

Rodriguez appears to have nothing to challenge Silva with...

After a fantastic run, Mills is way off the pace heading out into the forest...

It's a broken transmission for the Brit, ending his day....

Paulo Silva now just 2 laps away from victory....

De Bruyker now in 11th, with more points within sight just ahead of him....

And Silva now sets off on his final lap...

A parade of cars looking to bring home points....

The charging De Bruyker is putting the pressure on Keranen ahead of him....

Keranen looks to have the speed to hold off the chasing Tyrant driver...

Not long to go now for Silva, in what will be a remarkable victory...

In the shadows just 1 last time for Paulo Silva before he heads into the Stadium....

And across the line goes Paulo Silva, taking victory in Germany!

Second is Carlos Rodrigues for Maverick Track Performance...

Joseph Gilson rounds off the podium, finishing 3rd....

And this concludes our coverage from the Hockenheimring. Big congratulations to Paulo Silva and Ecurie Mistral, who got their pit strategy spot on, leaving their driver out longer, and not having to contend with traffic as a result. A result well deserved.

Not bad! A podium here would have been fantastic with all the Duth fans on the stands. But P4 is not bad after the recent results, alo without a boost.

Round 9 - German GP - Official Results

A good race from 19th to 10th. :)

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Great fightback by De Bruyker to finish in 11th, though had it not been for the spin on the opening lap he would've finished much higher. Next race in Belgium will be the home race for De Bruyker so we'll be aiming to give him the best car possible for a chance at taking a home victory.

WOW! What a crazy weekend...

After have reached a provisional pole that ended staring the GP in a distant 7th, i was very disappointed at the start of the race.

But guess what? Against all the odds, i made the cut at first and grab a maiden victory for me and this amazing team. (Btw, what happen to McClure? He had an accident?)

Amazing coverage, once again. That final laps seems bigger that usual... :)

Big party today at the garage and in the factory!

Woop, got some points! :-)

Well that was bloody awful

Very happy to get 3rd place at Hockenheim without a boost :-)

Joseph Gilson :: Southern Cross Racing :: Race Driver
Using a boost to fight for 12th place and retire... that was a great waste.

My GPGSL Career
Gp4 is kidding with me, every time we have a good pace and position the car breaks or we are hit by someone.

Dan was amazing, great drive, and Connor even managed a point

Bad race for the team not getting any points. Toby had a lucky escape at the start and at least he got a point for fastest lap.
A case for the halo fixture on the cars.
