Not too bad a session for Demon Racing. Potential to push well into the points if things work out for us....

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
What a disaster!

X (@ed24f1)
Not happy with this result... it will take a good pace to bring spme points home

My GPGSL Career
Race has been run. As always, we have a winner, and 21 losers, and this time around, one of the bigger shunts in my memory of GPGSL action.... Hoping to have part 1 of coverage up in next hour or two's time....

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
Biggest shunt? That makes me hope it didn't involve the Tyrants. Any chance it was bigger than the shunt I was involved in back in Season 8?

Biggest shunt of GPGSL? Holly crap! I hope our cars stay away from that...

Welcome back to Boromo, for today's race coverage.
Weather is perfect, no chance of rain by the looks of things, so we are expecting great racing at this gloriously flowing circuit.
Some teams have gone with double boosts, and drivers boost as well - so this will add a layer of intrigue to things : how effective will the boost be, or will it work to their detriment. Time will tell....

A front row lock out for Tyrant Motorsports, with Marcus De Bruyker on pole, and team mate John Warrington in 2nd...

The field all lined up behind the pole sitter....

And the field heads down to Turn 1, with all looking fairly well behaved from the view of Pedersen in 10th....

The field closely bunched up on the approach to Turn 1....

Turn 1 appears to have been safely negotiated by all, as De Bruyker leads. Dan Mills has jumped into 2nd, Warrington 3rd...

A quick replay shows Hinz is right up behind his AMR team mate Elleker on the run towards the first turn, and it may just be a bit too close....

A small touch, a puff of tyre smoke, but they got away with that one...

Back to the live action, and cameras have caught a glimpse of an MTP minus half the front wing, and an Alpha minus it's rear wing....

Another replay from the run to the first corner, and it appears Scala punted into the rear of O'Neill, with quite serious force...

Debris all over the track after that heavy contact....

Kederer moves past his stricken team mate, who will have to head to pit lane, along with Scala for repairs....

Back to the action at the front of the field, with live camera shots again.... De Bruyker has moved away from Mills who is defending from Warrington....

Connor Steer in a strongly boosted MMM Ferrari sits in 5th, hot on the heels of Rodriguez in the MTP....

Paolo Silva holds onto 6th place, with Elleker, Hinz and Jalving in close behind....

Jalving looks to the inside of Hinz....

Then to the inside....

Jalving takes 8th from Hinz as they come to the end of lap 1....

Lap 2, turn 1. Mills going a little defensive with Warrington all over the back of him...

Rodriguez tucks in behind Warrington, with Steer following close behind....

The leader has a 2 second gap while those behind squabble....

Silva is tucked up behind Steer, as the coverage informs us of O'Neill pitting for damage repairs - Scala goes to the pits as well....

While the rest of the field fight for position, race leader De Bruyker has built a 3 second lead....

The top 3 in shot, with positions 9-16 shown on screen....

And it is Mills off track, running wide....

Mills massively sideways....

And somehow he saves it, regains direction and loses just the 2 places....

But all that momentum lost by Mills, has bunched up the pack behind him....

Jalving makes it 3 wide on the way to Turn 2....

And the Dutchman succeeds, moving to 6th....

Rodriguez in 3rd, on lap 3. Positions 1-8 shown....

Positions 9-16 shown....

And positions 17-22 shown on lap 3....

Silva wants that 6th place back from Jalving, as they fight for it going into Turn 1.....

Jalving holds on, but this battle has brought the two AMR's right into the fight....

Deeper in the pack, Vilela is having a go at passing McClure to get into the points...

McClure defends....

Gilson is now all over Vilela on the way to Turn 2....

And Griedanus tucks in on the rear of Gilson...

Kederer sits in 20th, tagging on the back of the battle ahead of him....

And after their lap 1, turn 1 tangle, O'Neill is now sitting right behind his combatant from earlier, Matteo Scala...

Surely not?! O'Neill locks the brakes slightly.....

Scala is off....

And so is O'Neill. Dear oh dear oh dear.... contact between the two same drivers within 5 laps. There are going to be some ANGRY team owners and drivers after this race is done....

Meanwhile, back out front, the top 3 have settled into a pace, and the gap to the leader is shrinking.... Positions 1-8 shown....

Positions 9-16 on show....

And positions 17-22.....

So far, a great outing on track for MMM Ferrari, with both cars in the top 5....

Cameras missed it, but Silva is back up ahead of Jalving, who now has Hinz attacking him....

Hinz and Jalving both lock up....

And Hinz has given Jalving a little bump....

And the DMR rejoins the track, but loses 2 places....

But it is Hinz who also spun, and is sitting idle....

The German is forced to wait for a break in the traffic....

Hinz finally re-joins the track, down in 20th place....

Meanwhile, it is race leader Marcus DeBruyker out front, holding a steady gap to his team mate Warrington....

Nick Worseling is having a lonely race, down in 16th, with a car that just doesnt appear to be on song today....

And no sooner do we say this, but Worseling appears to understeer wide....

He gathers it up, wheels pointing the right way...

But has Worseling rejoined the racing line a bit too aggressively, as the Alpha of Kederer appears to his right at full speed...

Worseling's front wing flies off....

But a camera change to the onboard of Kederer shows massive damage!

Kederer has stopped on track, with a marshal to attend to him.... Question remains, what just happened?

To the replays....
Worseling re entered the track just at the moment Kederer was passing at full race speed...

The SCR and Alpha collide, wings braking....

Worseling continues on track, as Kederer is on the grass embankment, carrying substantial speed still...

Kederer slams into the wall, wings and wheels flying.....

The moment of impact for Kederer....

The damaged Worseling heading to pit lane, as the announcement of Kederer's demise is broadcast....

And while carnage unfolds behind, the race leader is still cruising along, with that healthy gap back to 2nd....

Rodriguez is not letting the Tyrant machines run too far away ahead of him....

Mills leads his team mate Steer....

Paolo Silva rounds out the top 6.....

Silvestre in 10th, with 7th of Pedersen, 8th Jalving and Elleker in 9th just ahead of him..

McClure in 11th....

Vilela in 12th....

Griedanus in 13th....

Gilson in 14th....

Soutsen in 15th....

Keranen in 16th....

Russell in 17th.....

Hinz in 18th....

Scala in 19th....

O'Neill in 20th....

And last runner, Worseling in 21st

So, with a frantic start to this race, we take our first ad break. Back sometime fairly soon.....
And as for the biggest shunt, we officially add Kederer's incident to the catalog - might not quite be the biggest of all time, but it was up there. (we must compile a list/pics/videos of biggest hits in GPGSL! :) )

I was a bit aggressive trying to get past Scala after he shunted me earlier, sorry boss.
Disappointing that Toby got shunted off due to Worsling's return to the track. Was it an unsafe return?
Hope the race stewards will investigate.

This season is a nightmare so far :-(

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
Does Mills not have a flag together with his name? And in this point: "Gilson in 14th...." there's a image of Soutsen driving for MTP in another race

11th and still struggling, hope it should be good next part.

DEMON RACING PIT RADIO

Sheppard: "Rodrigo, are you okay?"
Vilela: "I'm still in a lot of pain. This track is very undulating, I'm feeling inside a blender."
Sheppard: "Feel free to retire, OK?."
Vilela: "Only when my arm falls down completely."
Sheppard: "Don't joke with this, Rodrigo, don't risk a serious accident. I want my drivers alive to Interlagos."
Vilela: "Alright, just until Interlagos, no problem. After this isn't necessary!"
Sheppard: "Do you want to go to hell now or later?"
Vilela: "Leave it later, I want to try to score some points now. Hahahahahahahaha..."
Sheppard: "You're not Holy Mary, but it's full of grace, even... hahahahahahaha"

One Racing driver and team manager
GPGSL-3: champion in 2007/2013/2014!
GPGSL-4: testdrivers champion in Season 11!
And we are back from the commericals, ready for the middle stages of the African GP from Boromo

Our cameras pick up race leader De Bruyker beginning Lap 9... the top 8 shown in the graphic...

John Warrington is shadowing his team mate....

And behind Warrington, Carlos Rodriguez loiters....

Deeper in the midfield pack, Gilson is battling the Snake of Griedanus, and Soutsen looking to capitalise if either should falter....

Rodriguez appears to be following right behind Warrington, waiting for the right moment....

Keranen has his hands full with traffic ahead of him....

And as cameras return to Gilson, it has changed! Soutsen now ahead of both Gilson and Griedanus....

Gilson wont die wondering, attacking the Christel driver....

Battles raging everywhere, the poor old RD doesnt know what to focus on! Silvestre in 10th has an angry pack of cars just ahead of him: Vilela, Elleker, and Pedersen

Elleker licks the stamp and posts it....

And sails up the inside of Jalving...

But, Boromo being Boromo, this battle is far from over, as Jalving tucks in behind the AMR to benefit from a slipstream....

But, the DMR driver has run wide....

Run very wide that is....

No touching of the fences, no damage, and runs directly across the track trying to regain control. Team mate Vilela approaching in the background. UH-OH!!!!.....

After a wild slide, a spin to recover and a safe re-entry to the track, the Dutchman in down in 18th....

De Bruyker still commands the race, with his lead narrowly being shrunken...

Warrington sits in 2nd, with his team mate just ahead, but mirrors full of MTP's Rodriguez...

Rodriguez will be quite comfortable sitting in 3rd, ahead of the pit stops soon....

Dan Mills will be loving this run, sitting in 4th...

And Connor Steer in the other MMM Ferrari, sitting in 5th - a great showing from the debutant team....

Silva holds the 6th spot....

Pedersen in 7th....

Elleker in 8th....

Silvestre in 9th, a good day so far for MAC Racing, with both cars inside the top 10....

McClure in 10th, giving Mistral both cars also in the top 10....

Vilela in 11th for DMR....

Griedanus in 12th, the last points paying position....

Soutsen in 13th....

Gilson in 14th....

Keranen in 15th....

Russell in 16th, caught bizarrely in this shot with both left side wheels airborne...

Hinz in a disappointing 17th for the AMR driver....

Jalving in 18th, happy to be in 1 piece after his wild ride not so long ago....

And rounding out the tail of the field, the troublesome duo of Scala and O'Neill, with Worseling catching the 2 of them....

Almost in perfection seperation formation, Pedersen leads a line of contenders....

And we have more trouble! Elleker goes too deep on the brakes, tagging the MAC ahead of him...

Pedersen runs off track....

Elleker spins,

Pedersen manages to keep rolling the right way, but the following Mistral of McClure didnt allow room, and they collide....

Massive contact between the two....

McClure off on the grass, with someones wheel right in the middle of the track....

McClure's day is done....

As is Pedersen's day at Boromo....

Worseling on a charge from the tail of the field, attempting to get by O'Neill....

Mills in 4th, but on a strange line through a turn - is he in trouble?...

Yes, the MMM is slowing, as his team mate sweeps past....

A puff of smoke from Mill's machine signals the end of his stellar run today. Perhaps the team's gamble on big boost, has failed...

The leaders are beginning to pit, with Warrington in pit lane....

Rodriguez in the pit bay behind Warrington, a battle of the pit crews....

And the MTP crew easily win that battle, with Rodriguez out clearly ahead of the Tyrant driver....

Warrington trails Rodriguez after their stop....

Halfway through this already action packed race, pit stops underway. Positions 1-8....

Positions 9-16....

Positions 17-22....

Silvestre pits in the sole remaing MAC

Elleker pits....

Russell pits as Silvestre heads back out on track....

O'Neill in the pits for the 2nd time today....

De Bruyker continues to lead, yet to pit as he heads past the pit entry....

Connor Steer is in the pits....

Silva has also pitted, with Steer ahead of him in the pit exit lane....

Turn 1 is proving a real trouble spot, as we yet again see cars off track. This time it is Keranen and one of the SCR's....

It's Gilson!

Let's go to the video replays... Final turn, and it is Gilson leading Keranen, with Jalving in the background by the looks of it...

Jalving's onboard shot, shows Keranen having a look at the SCR as they head deep into T1....

Keranen and Gilson both run off, as they both braked too late....

Gilson recovers as Jalving slides past...

Vilela approached the scene, as Keranen re-enters.... both drivers successfully continue on....

Gilson back on track with a Snake and AMR right on his tail....

It is Gilson, Griedanus and Elleker in close confines...

Keranen is up alongside the SCR of Gilson....

And he is through, Keranen overtakes Gilson....

Race leader Marcus De Bruyker finally pits....

The late stop appears to have cost the Belgian, with Rodriguez and Warrington now ahead....

Carlos Rodriguez leads for Maverick Track Performance at Boromo....

With other peoples misfortune, and his own cool head, Rodrigo Vilela finds himself up in 6th place with 10 laps remaining...

Ruben Griedanus has gained 8 places so far....

Jack Elleker, despite finding trouble early, runs in the spot he started the race in, 9th....

Another driver to have had earlier trouble, Nick Worseling finds himself inside the points....

Similar story to Christopher Hinz, now in 11th....

Soutsen currently clings onto the final point in the race....

Charrel Jalving is charging, determined to make up for his earlier "off".....

Jalving up the inside of Russell at Turn 1....

They both run wide, with Russell spinning....

Jalving continues on, with rookie Luke Russell left to gather himself up....

A flick spin, and the Brit is back underway....

Jalving now back in 13th....

Russell now coming under fire from O'Neill....

And O'Neill takes that spot without too much resistance....

After leading the entire first 16 laps until pitting, De Bruyker now finds himself 3.2 seconds off the lead....

Rodriguez leads by just over 2 seconds from Warrington, as we get an overview of positions 1-8....

The positions 9-16....

And the final positions....

So, with plenty of excitement still rolling on, we go to our final ad break.....
Stay tuned : Will Rodriguez hold off the two Tyrants, will the two Tyrants engage in a battle that may hinder both of them? Will there be more carnage at Turn 1? Find out, when we return.....
