Making the move to widescreen

Hi, I'm hoping someone with more knowledge of the GP4 graphics config file can help

After running GP4 in 1280x1024 for years with all the in-game graphics at the highest settings, I've finally taken the plunge and moved up to date with a 1920 x1080 widescreen monitor. I know you now have to rely on the config file to run at that resolution so I have set the config file to override the game settings "1" from "0", changed the resolution to 1920x1080, changed the "increase car texture quality" to "1" from "0" (because all the car textures were showing as white until I changed this) and all seemed ok. Then I noticed that the cars seem to have slightly less reflection on them than before (the Mercedes now looks more grey than silver for example). Have I missed any other settings changes needed in the graphics config file that would affect the reflections? I've just been so used to everything looking good using the in-game settings in 1280X1024

Hi Neil,

Yes, enabling game settings from f1graphics file overrides all the usual ingame settings, so you have to set them all back to what you get used to in the file.

Concerning car reflection, you might change the following line :
1 ; [MAIN VIEW] Enable static environment reflections (0=>off 1=>on) v3

Setting it to 0 will enable dynamic environnement reflection (like the option in the game menu) which gives higher reflective cars and dynamic reflections ofc :)

Hey Laurent, is there a reason why one of the cars I installed into my 2004 mod doesn't show any reflections at all? The car looks great and everything runs fine, it's just that it doesn't show any reflections. Any ideas?

Alpha layer of the texture(s) is (are) surely too dark.

Oh ok. Is there a way I can make the Alpha layers less darker?
