The "0x" just means "hex" (base 16) value. So if all your offsets are in hex only (either indicated in some other way or just assumed), it'll be 000E618D.

thanks but sorry: the last digit of the 8-digit offset value is always '0'...?

Hi guys,

I have an issue which may or may not be related to this topic.

My cc cars always seem to enter the box normally, get tyres and fuel no problem, but then exit the box whilst the front jack man is still in the way (drive through him). I then noticed that the length of stop recorded is shorter than what is set in the tweaker file. I then tried the same thing and when I waited until the jack man animation had finished and moved, the timing of the stop was correct.

My question is, how do I stop the cc cars leaving early and instead wait until the jack man animation has finished? I always hear 'select 1st gear' 'go,go,go' which is when the cc cars are leaving, but the animation doesn't finish before this is said.

Can you help?
Thanks
Richard

The offset ending in 0 is the offset of the first byte on the line displayed. The remaining 15 bytes on that same line thus have offsets ending in 1 through F. So if you're looking for 000E618D, that's the 3rd-to-last byte on the line marked "000E6180" (it should look a lot like the screenshot phantaman posted on the previous page). You'll know if it's the right one by comparing the values in the hex editor at that offset to the "Original File" values in the first post.

@RHill: I think the answer to your question got posted in the separate thread.

I have the same issue. How do you fix this problem please?

@MikhailM: I've included your fix in GPxPatch 4.45. Please let me know if it works. In case there are problems it's still possible to disable it in gpxpatch.ini.

Here are the same 35 bytes of gp4.exe (version 1.02 as before) with the change that should make every pit stop refuel instantly. Let me know if this doesn't work - I hadn't saved the version I used for testing and just came up with this real quick... but it should work

It doesn't work - the refuelling still takes +10 seconds.

Sorry for taking a year to test it :)

I find a bug..

When you stop the car in pit, you just have the time to choose the compound to change (for example from Rain to Intermediates tyres), but if you want to increase fuel in car to change strategy, you can't, because you're not enable anymore to make changes in car!!

Anyone who has notice it?

I've not played GP4 in a while now, so haven't been checking this forum, sorry...

@SDI: Awesome, thanks! I'll check it out.

@TomMK: Hmm, and here I was thinking it was so simple. :) I'll test it in the next few days and let you know if I figure it out. In the meantime, can you let me know whether you're using one of the newer GPxPatch versions (4.45 or later) that already include the fix?

@PaZa8523: I can't imagine that would be related to this fix, but just to make sure... have you tried disabling the fix as per SDI's post? If that fixes your issue, please let me know.

OK, just tested that change with GPxPatch 4.44, it works fine - getting pitstop times between 5.5 and 8.5 seconds for 50-55 laps of fuel getting added (I also see refueling animation end as soon as it begins, which means that tyre changes are the limiting factor in the stop times).

My guess would be that on later versions of GPxPatch, which include the bugfix from my original post, GPxPatch is overwriting your change at runtime with that fix. I'll test that out when I get a chance, but I'm assuming that disabling the refueling time fix in GPxPatch should work for what you're trying to do.

Confirmed that the current version of GPxPatch overwrites any changes made manually to this code unless the refueling time bug fix is disabled through the config file. Once it's disabled, however, the "instant refueling" change works just as well as with GPxPatch 4.44 (see above).

Nice one, I'll test it and report back.

We do have to think about the point raised by PaZa8523 though - if this fix results in the player losing control of their strategy it might not be the right thing?

I did some testing of PaZa8523's issue, and was able to reproduce it both with and without the refueling time fix enabled (through latest GPxPatch). That would suggest that that issue is not related to this fix.

It's an odd one, though... it seems to happen every time for scheduled stops, and never for unscheduled ones (if I just hit Enter during my lap). Not sure how it's even supposed to work...

I also noticed this a few times. But I have no idea how to fix it.
