GPxPatch question? (threshold) & rotate (angle start / end) new problem? Solved

Posted by davegp4
Is it possible to have toggle (threshold) & rotate (angle start / end) together?
I've got some great idea's if this is possible but I can't seem to config it.

It's not possible in the current version. I'd have to change it so that 'toggle' is always possible, as an extra setting independent of the mode, and remove 'toggle' from the mode.

thank SDI any plans in the future for that?
What I was trying was in the 1955 youtube video [www.youtube.com]
you will see bugs forming on the goggles of the driver as you pass the start/finish line
& was trying this in dynamic helmet mode using g-force (by duffer I think) as an
overlay & having it on slight rotation 105/90 & works fine but you can't build on the
amount of bugs appearing on the goggles? of course you want your goggles to be
smothered in bugs at the end of say 20 laps right, it's much more realistic with the dynamic
mode & have this feature in every mod I'm making now. I think this would be a very useful Addison
but unfortunately this idea rests in your hands SDI as I have no idea how to go about.
thank you for your reply.(I)

Ok, so that also means the rotation and toggle need to be based on different input?

Yes! for example having say 5 images on rotate matching dynamic helmet movement
also being able to threshold those 5 images at different intervals through the game.
does this make sense? I appreciate your interest on this idea.(I)

Ok, this is already possible :) If you look at the top left of the panel settings you can see "Enable ranges". If you check it you can press the "Edit ranges..." button and set the Type to "Session". Then edit the range in which the item should be enabled. You can specify it in laps, percentages or seconds. For the end value specify "After start" to make it relative to the start value, so you can keep this the same for each item.

There's only one catch: the range affects the whole panel, so you'll have to create multiple panels.

yes I was thinking that, but that's ok because your software allows that.
cool bro(Y)

I really thought I had it SDI & it is half solved the new problem is
I can only create 14 panels? any more & it displays the 15th panel on lap 1 for some reason?
edit ranges are: (panel 1) session / from 0 after start of session to 99 after start of session
through to (panel 14) session / from 14 after start of session to 99 after start of session
then panel 15 will display at 1st lap? I want to use 20 panels. also is it possible to get the
last layered panel displaying for the rest of the race? by the way the 14 looks great! help.:(

That shouldn't happen. Perhaps you entered the wrong unit? (e.g. seconds).
All panels should show for the rest of the race, right? Not just the last one. Just fill in a very high end value.

This is strange all panels are as follows:
(panel 1) session / from 0 (lap) after start of session to 99 (lap) after start of session
through to (panel 20) session / from 20 (lap) after start of session to 99 (lap) after start of session
Game runs to the 14th lap then all layers disappear? (end value 99):(

.rar is ok. But I couldn't reply to your email because I got a message back from postmaster that your account is disabled...

I do notice some strange effects where it seems that panel ranges can affect each other.

What is the total number of laps in your race?

I see that I take the modulo (remainder after division) of the end lap and the total number of laps. Not sure why I do this but you'll get unexpected results. I suggest to set the "to" value to a very high time value instead.

Total number of laps is 20 at 35%, I will try that René, by the way your email did come through maybe it was a change over by me
moving from copper to the NBN just the other day. anyway just ignore the email message (I sent the wrong info anyway) & communicate from here.
(unless I need to send something) keep an eye out for a new post.(Y)

I tried increasing the (to) value from 99 up to 299 & no change
so I went the other way using 35% race distance (20 laps)
using the 20 panels (panel 1) from 1 lap to 21 - down to
(panel 20) from 20 to 21 & bingo! using transparency on
panel 1 to panel 20 I can get very slight bugs building right up to
lap 20 (not to heavy so as you can still drive) as you cross the line
all bugs disappear, but that's ok the race has finished.
I'm happy with that result, (Y) I wish I could write code better then I
might be of some help, I'll leave that in your hands SDI. Hey the end result is good
I will release this soon for everyone.

I can fix the distance, but it's easiest to just use time instead of distance. Time does not suffer from this bug.
Also, time should be better than laps, right? I mean, your visor gets dirty over time, independent of which lap you are in.
